How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewRoom was lovely and kitchen was a great addition. Room also had a fridge which was a great touch.
We were informed about prayer on arrival, however, it would be beneficial to have the prayer times at reception as additional information.

Verified reviewLovely hotel, very welcoming and friendly staff.
Location wasn’t so good, had to get taxis to place rather than them being walking distance

Verified reviewExtremelly friendly staff. Nice location, close to several restaurants and markets. Small pool, perfect for the kids. Water, popcorn and nachos always available. Good breakfast, with a mix of local food, break, fruit.
Our toilet was leaking a bit, but I took a look at the other rooms and they seemed perfectly fine. Just bad luck. Don’t come if you get anoyed by the prayers in the early morning. But guess what? You will find that all across the country, so better get used to it. :)

Verified reviewThe staff of Omah Manis is extremely friendly and helpful, and the beds were super comfortable. It was great to have a refrigerator and small kitchenette at our disposal. Also, the pool was great! It was so nice to be able to take a refreshing dip after a hot day visiting the Prambanan temple or walking around lovely and lively Yogya. Breakfast was modest but delicious and prepared with care. Also, when we left, the kids received a small goodbye gift, which was so thoughtful. Absolutely would recommend this hotel!
Nothing. I knew from earlier reviews that the hotel is right next to a mosque, and that the 4.30am call to prayers is loud. It is, but the voice was actually nice and melodic and the singing is only for like a minute or two. The kids just slept through it and we did wake up from it, but we fell back asleep as soon as it was over. All the other great features of the hotel make up for this minor inconvenience.

Verified reviewThe hotel was well located and it was really easy to go to the center as well to other locations around Yogya. The staff was great and very helpful, the breakfast was simple but very tasty. The room was spacious, clean and confortable. The pool was a plus, it was small but more than enough for a refreshing swim after a long day.
The only negative point was the proximity to a mosque the sound was very loud and woke us up at 4 am... However, this is something that we experienced in other locations around Java so it is pretty common.

Verified reviewEverything was so clean ! The bed was comfortable and we were able to get a good nights sleep. Air conditioning works really well. Staff were really nice and gave us a number to a guy who took us to Borobudur, and he was also great! It’s around 15 minute car ride to Malioboro street, so it doesn’t feel like you’re staying in the city.
The only thing that got a little annoying was the call to prayer , we stayed for around a week. But I think you would hear it everywhere in the city no matter where you stayed. It starts at around 4:30am , but doesn’t go for that long and we were able to get back to sleep each morning. I think the latest it played was around 7pm.
Thank you fou best review.

Verified reviewVery friendly staff who would go out of their way to help you. We were greeted with a smile everytime we saw the staff. Comfy beds, nice breakfast and bathroom.
Located close to a mosque so the prayers woke us up in the morning, but this is definitely something to expect when staying in most indonesian cities.

Cockroach in the room. Call for prayer was pretty loud every morning and evening, it was so loud I thought the mosque is in the hotel. Only Indonesian breakfast which were not appetizing at all, i didn’t eat any of it during my stay. Towels full of stains. The bathroom is so small and shower is broken.

Verified reviewStaffs are really helpful and friendly. Location is excellent, close to great foods and groceries and easy access to the city centre.
We have 4 kids and it'd be much better to have connected rooms. Other things are excellent.

Verified reviewPros: Big room with kitchenette, tv and strong A/C. Centrally located near a busy road with lots of restaurants nearby. Wonderful staff, they were so helpful - organising tours, laundry etc. mini pool which I didn’t make enough use of.
Would have loved a balcony. We enjoyed the Mosque next door as we’re Muslims but non-Muslims may struggle when morning prayer calls. Breakfast options limited, great omelette - the rest was uncovered which would make westerners queasy.

Verified reviewThis is a very good, low budget hotel. We received a very warm welcome and - despite being too early for check in - were offered our room. We did not use the pool, although small, it looked inviting. Breakfast on the first day was Indonesian soup, and toast and jam/chocolate spread for westerners. Breakfast on the second day (when we think there were more guests staying) was much better, with a more extensive and delicious choice. The staff were very kind and tried hard to make us welcome. My wife was given a small batik gift when we checked out. The hotel is close to a thriving local area with a lot of options for evening food and drinks. Although there is a mosque opposite, the call to prayer during the night is quietened down and didn’t disturb us. The city itself has no real centre so wherever you stay you will need to take a taxi to get to the temples or shopping malls. There are a lot of shopping malls, ranging in size and spending need.

Verified reviewThe staff were lovely; very warm and welcoming, and even gave a small gift when we checked out (hand cream and a voucher with a discount for another stay, which was very thoughtful). The bed was really comfortable, the shower was great - really powerful and the overall size and layout of the room was perfect. We had a great stay here.
There was nothing we didn’t like, would highly recommend it as a place to stay in Jogja

Verified reviewThe breakfast buffet was great! The rooms are really big, with good facilities. They provide drinking water for free, and there is a small communal kitchen that you can use in the hallway. The swimming pool was also a nice addition. The staff is friendly.

Verified reviewVery clean and spacious room, with enough space for two people. The hotel offers a great breakfast, small and cozy pool and dining zone. It’s very well located, close to a lot of different restaurants and main tourist attractions. On separate note need to say, that the stuff is crazily nice and friendly. If I return to Jogja, I will stay in Omah Manis
I could not use my hairdryer, because the electricity was going off

Verified reviewI liked the room and kitchenette - and also a shared kitchen down the hall. Breakfast was superb and the staff were wonderful. Pool area as nice after a hot day too.
The muezzin at the masjid next door - it’s so loud it’s like he’s in your room with a loud speaker at 4am!! Also the location is a way from the central area so it’s good if you don’t want to be central but not so good if you do

I thinks people in Jogja was very friendly and the province area very clean.. For Non-Muslim travelers, yes , in front of the hotel have a mosque, but the Azans only take about less than 5mins, it wont disturb your sleeping, no worries😎 Thanks Again OMah Manis for the service👍👍👍

Verified reviewThe staff were always pleasant and helpful to deal with. The room was nice and clean and BIG, lots of room so you don't feel squeezed in and cooped up. The area was lovely, lots to do. The free breakfast was nice, though l would have also liked some options like instant oatmeal, or some more variation between days as it was mostly the same items each time. It was great knowing we could grab something quickly before heading out to see the sights. It was quiet, despite a mosque being next door. The loudest noises we heard from outside were children having fun playing. It's a very family oriented place.
There was a recurring issue with getting our second key card to work that was a bit annoying, but it was minor and not a big deal. The bathrooms I think could use some extra care in their design/implementation. The small sink with the shelf on top was difficult for a taller person to use, especially when brushing teeth if I didn't want to make a mess. A small gripe would also be privacy, we were on the second floor and looking out our window was right onto another two story house. So if you're looking for privacy, keep the curtains closed!
