Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandMajor reconstruction is going on in the resort - very much at the expense of the resort‘s charme. Prior information on this would have been appreciated.
The friendliness and helpfulness of staff was outstanding. Well designed and maintained traditional room (villa).

The resort is really amazing and well laid out and blends into the forest. Words won’t do the property setup and facilities justice but everything has been well thought out and blends with the surrounds. Reminds me of our stay in Bora Bora

Exquisite luxury through and through. The spa treatment is a MUST as they provide you with the entire spa villa and not just a room. We stayed only 1N and booked the Borobudur Villa. Didnt have much time to enjoy the room or the resort so I recommend staying at least 2N.

One of the best resort in Indonesia and the world. We’ve booked 3 villas, 2 modern pool villas and grand spa villa. The reception during our arrival was very friendly, warm and professional. We loved our breakfast at Patio Restaurant as the view from our table was amazing, you can see Borobudur temple and mountains around from it. Variety of al carte menu available to suit our needs. The villa and the resort environment also very tranquil and silent, it is best for our resilient holiday away from crowd and hectic. Mr. Bimo who was our guest liaison provide a very professional and courtesies service and helps during our stay. All the staff from concierge, buggy service, F&B servers and spa therapies provides us a very warm and professional services. It is one of the best Plataran Resort in the world.

ArgentinaThe only downside was that my stay was way too short! The only downside! 😆
One of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in (and I’ve stayed in many!). The room was superb, the location incredible, and the view of the temple in the middle of the jungle was mesmerizing. All the staff were very polite, and the manager was both attentive and friendly.

AustriaThe construction site is a bit of a nuisance for a Christmas holiday. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to experiencing the new spa.
An absolutely fantastic setting with an outstanding view of the cultural landscape around the Borobudur temple complex, which is a significant part of the World Heritage List and can be proud of those who still experience this unique view.

FranceResort is located more than 1h from Merapi volcano, Prabaman temple and Yogyakarta thus be prepared to pay around A$26 minimum for a single ride and A$40 one way from/to airport. To remember that Java is at majority a Muslim country and that the 1st prayer call is at 4am. Ear plugs are provided by Resort.
Staff wonderful. Professional, kind and discreet. Resort is 10mn from Borobudur temple that we can see from the Patio restaurant of the resort. An excellent restaurant worth a Michelin Star. Price above local restaurant but worth having at least a meal there. Excellent breakfast and afternoon tea. Room attended by quality staff. Always clean. Fruits, water and sweets left for us. Worth considering a stay if visiting the area.

United StatesThat we didn’t have more time luxuriate in its magnificence
Nestled in the jungle, the setting is exquisite! The grounds are beautifully maintained and the filled with artful sculptures and historic touches. Around every corner of this vast resort there is something to delight in. The room was huge and felt like a romantic step back in time. The dark wood interior was filled with elegant touches, antiques, draped king bed, massive desk and several comfortable seating areas. There was a lovely balcony that wrapped around the room and overlooked a spectacular jungle. There was also both a private pergola and pool which made us feel like royalty.

United KingdomThe 4 am call to prayer may bother some but there are earplugs.
The hotel is directly across the valley from the temple. It’s a shame the temple’s floodlighting is poor (and not every night) but when the mist forms it’s unparalleled. The gardens are beautiful, the room delightful, The bed is comfortable, the bathroom huge. The pool villas are excellent. The staff could not have done more, especially for the nine year old in our party. The food was good though some more choice would be welcome. It’s on a hill but the buggies come quickly via the WhatsApp group.

IndonesiaMaybe more unique activities for kids that other hotels dont have yet, but what they already have is also great amd well executed. I'm kind of pushing it because everything went well. Price maybe high, but thats what you pay for exclusivity and the attention to you.
We drove here from Jakarta as a family with young children, looking for a new roadtrip experience for they kids. There are many many great destinations in Indonesia, but not all have the Bali international standard when it comes to accommodation, which is I guess why Plataran exists. You can trust the brand and just follow where they set up their hotels in Indonesia for a great alternative to a Bali holiday. This one in Borobudur feels like the old Ubud before social media. World class property without the hype and crowds. I know you can find many hotels like this in Bali, but the change in setting is so refreshing. The attention they put to individual guests is impressive. They set up a whatsapp group with you that the management team answers immediately.

Many options on the resort for dinner and all the restaurants are excellent. To book online your ticket for Borobodur before you travel to Java is highly recommended.
