This place is so lovely. It is so lush and so relaxing! If we are ever back in this area, we will definitely stay here again. It’s very simple but it’s the best deal we have seen in Bali for the price! The owners and staff are so wonderful and the room is spacious and the food isn’t that bad. This place is a 10 out of 10 as far as I’m concerned.

The water pressure isn’t great, so even though the bathtub is beautiful, it probably would take a long time to fill it. We didn’t care. There are lots of stairs, which is good to know if you can’t do stairs very well. They didn’t bother us.

without a hesitation i can say that it was one of my favorite stays of all time. we spend only one night there, and i am still trying to figure out how to come back there during our indonesian adventure! firstly, the location of this place is absolutely outstanding. you are able to immerse yourself in the jungle, pure nature, with no doubt its a perfect match for relaxation and comfort. close to the natural terms. one of them you have in your own bathroom! the room was beautifully maintained, with a nice decor, good AC, everything felt so fresh and inviting. we had a really satisfying dinner, the restaurant has a great vibe, the meals were well prepared. and most importantly, you will surely feel welcome there, as the family that runs the stay left us with the warmest feeling. thank you for this short but absolutely memorable stay!

The property is in a beautiful Jungle location. Authentic and therefore with all of the flora and fauna you would expect to find in the Jungle. The rooms are comfortable, good size, bed suited me (with the addition of a mosquito net), and for the price I have zero complaints. Right next to Banjar Holy Water Hot Springs, which were great and affordable. But, the crowning glory, along with the location, is the warm hospitality and genuine care of Ayu and her lovely family. They made me feel like I was a special visitor to their home and for that alone it competes with the fancy 4/5 star hotels I occasionally stay in when travelling The food was fresh and nicely prepared and again service was exemplary. WiFi worked better than in many areas of the UK. If you want to experience the real thing when visiting Bali, this place is it. If you’re looking for all of the mod cons, then this is probably not the right location for you. Some of the negative reviews about Pondok are ludicrous. People complaining about Mosquitoes for instance. It’s the Jungle, the mighty Jungle after all. Xxx Simon

Based on realistic expectations, I would not fault the property. Ayu is hoping to renovate the rooms when possible, because they need a little updating.

It was a very short stay but the hosts made me very welcome. It's a beautiful hotel, with lush green surroundings with Banjar Hot Springs nearby . In contrast to other locations in Bali, this stay felt less crowded and more relaxing and I would be happy to return for a longer stay.

    Nothing :)

Old school balinese family property. Attentive, warm and friendly family. They drove me on to my next destination. Good food. Next door to hot springs. Very Quiet except for springs car park attendants at busy times during the day but no traffic noise. Great value.

Things were a bit rundown with an air of neglect

It was the perfect location for the Air Panas hot springs, which we had come to visit, 200m or so, away, couldn't be closer. The surrounding forrest was sublime and the cabins very pretty....Ayu and her team were very flexible in upgrading our accommodation on our request and adding another night so we could explore further! Breakfast was good, plentiful coffee, with the restaurant open for lunch and dinner also...fresh home cooked food 👍 Comfy, clean, very reasonably priced, extra pillows and towels on request...and a brilliant, brought in masseur, Nyomen, for three wonderful healing Bali massages! All round we'd highly recommend Ayus beautiful homestay 🙏😁

In the middle and on slope of hill with tropical environment. The hotel is older dates, with its charm and … Close by Banyar Holy Hot springs why we stay on this hotel. The couple managing are nice and friendly -

The AC did not have remote. Consequently, difficult to adjust temp in the room, especially during night. Not options or operate AC only on or off. Actually a fan would be adequate. Note: 24 stairs down and 24 stairs up to your room.

Nice place. Lovely people running it. Great food. Right next to the hot springs. I liked the old style buildings surrounded by lush vegetation. Nice little terrace outside the room

The room was fine, but the bathroom fittings were tired and overdue an update. It would have been nice to have a headboard. You have to cross a cute bridge to get to the place. Unfortunately, there was litter stuck in the natural debris in the river below, which rather spoiled the lovely surroundings. If this was regularly cleared away, the natural beauty of the place would be maintained. There are lots of steps, some of which were a bit slippy.

Its clean, the food is very good, the hosts are very friendly and the surroundings are amazing. You live in the jungle but without the humidity. In three nights i havent got any bites(bedbugs or mosquito). I have a standard room with fan. Its simple but definitely worth the money.

    Havent found anything yet..

We cannot rate this place highly enough! From the moment we arrived down the grand concrete stairs and across the beautiful bridge over the river into reception, Ayu and her family have been the most welcoming and wonderful hosts we have had on our 6month journey around South East Asia so far. It felt like visiting family, and we spent every evening having lovely long talks with Ayu after the most wonderful home cooked Indonesian food in their restaurant. Ayu's husband is a brilliant cook. The hotel is perfectly positioned next to the holy hot springs but there's no real need to visit and pay the entrance fee as you have your own free and private hot spring bath at the hotel. The accommodation is nestled into the green jungle hillside, and in the evening the only things you hear are the crickets and the flow of the spring water, which is truly relaxing. Ayu arranged for her husband to take us to visit the beautiful buddhist monastery (which is also walkable but it was a particularly warm day) at a very reasonable price, but they can also rent you scooters. You can book a lovely peaceful massage right in the grounds of the hotel as well. Nothing was too much trouble, and Ayu also kindly provided us with a kettle for the room. This hotel is just brimming with rustic charm. It is not a 5 star resort, but instead it has the most wonderful character and we didn't want to leave! Terima kasih banyak to Ayu and family 🙏 we hope to return one day!

The situation of the place is idyllic but the published score does not correspond with the hotel. For the price it's what you pay for is what you get.

We learnt that the plalce was developed by the father of the current owners in the 90's. And I would say they haven't done anything with it since. The bed was old; the bathroom was terrible ( the shower head came off as soon as you turned on the water!) and the lunch we had was unbelievable (the weirdest BLT I ever saw)
