Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaEverything was perfect!
Sanur House is an exceptionally well run small hotel in Sanur. It is located on a quiet street, 100 metres from a busier commercial street with shops of all kinds, ATMs, Indonesian Warungs, international restaurants and plenty of coffee shops. Sanur House itself has a number of rooms in the main complex as well as private individual cottages spaced out throughout the lovely, beautifully maintained gardens. There is a very nice pool with plenty of beach lounges and shade umbrellas. The breakfasts are amazing, with a buffet style variety of local and "western" offerings. You can also order eggs from the kitchen if you wish. They do offer a number of very tasty items from the lunch menu if you choose to eat in. Sanur House has now set up a very nice spa with a range of treatments - I got a 60 minute deep tissue massage and my wife got a foot reflexology treatment. Both were fantastic and fairly priced. Of course, a highlight of staying at Sanur House are the wonderful people who work there and are so kind and helpful!

The staff are beautiful and so friendly. The gardens are immaculate and were perfect for our 10 month old son to crawl around. The breakfast was 10/10, such a delicious spread and presented so beautifully. We loved our stay at sanur house.

AustraliaI only have one complaint about this property and it's very similar to the last review from previous stay... " It would be good to have some more sun beds around the pool , enough for all guests" Now here's what really annoyed me and will maybe put us off staying again in the future , it's the entitled people who before breakfast leave their belongings on the one double day bed ( and the single ones at times ) then leave for a couple of hours or longer reserving the loungers , I think it's the height of rudeness! And when I mentioned to the staff they don't seem to care not wanting to upset those mentioned , I think that if people leave their belongings on a chair to reserve it and leave the property the staff should remove the items! An old Australian couple did this when we were there and I feel it's very unaustralian!
2nd time staying here so we do like the place, the staff are lovely as are the beautiful gardens . Very nice breakfast with some healthy options. Good air con in the room and the property has a nice pool too.

GermanyRoom upstairs with toddler and baby quite difficult to access. The tiles around the pool are quite loose and the hard stone wall inside the pool bears danger to hurt oneself

New ZealandGreat place to stay off the main road so nice and quiet and short walk to the road for shopping and food. The pool area is lovely, in the middle of the property, small but really lovely and nice place to chat with other guests as there are only several rooms. Breakfast was great, fresh and plenty and in a lovely outdoor dining room beside the pool. The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. We had a few massages here in a lovely massage space upstairs, really good. We had a basic room, but it was a good size, very clean and comfy. Large jug of water in your room which is so handy to refill your bottles. So take your own reusable drink bottle so you don’t need to drink out of plastic ones. The beach is about a 10 min easy walk, across the main road, easy to cross, and down a lane to the beach front and walkway which goes both north towards the mall, a short walk and sth Sanur to local beach eateries, about 15 mins. You can swim there too, plus there’s small local shopping around there. We ate everywhere local and all the food was great. There’s also a really good warung, Lila, 1 min from Sanur house we recommend, great food and atmosphere. Delicious. Also we arranged a driver thro Sanur house to the Sanur harbour to catch a fast boat to Gili islands. The driver was fantastic, helpful and knowledgeable, and we used him again later when we returned for pick up etc. His name was Dewa so if you need a ride etc, ask for him as he was great.

NetherlandsNothing about the place itself. Its was our 3nd time on Bali. In 2013 there were yearly 3 million visitors., in 2019 almost 7 million and for 2025 its about 18 million. For us - Sanur is a touristic circus with shopping malls and arranged stuff. This is not the Bali as we knew it. We were glad to leave Sanur.
So much attention to details and service. We got there in the middle if the night but were so welcomed.

ItalyIt is not by the beach but easy to access! For us it wasn’t a problem.
Hi! We stayed in a one bedroom villa and it was perfect for us - we are a couple travelling with our kids, 3 and 1 year old. Simple facilities but incredibly comfortable. Spotless clean to say the least, every morning by the time we came back from breakfast the room had already been thoroughly cleaned! The common areas are lovely and well kept, and the pool small but inviting :) menu at the bar for lunch and dinner short but excellent price and quality! Staff were simply marvellous 🤩 only a short walk from ICON Bali shopping center woth beach access and all facilities. I’d definitely recommend!

AustraliaThere's nothing I didn't like, it was very nice which made my holiday very pleasant. I also had a free half hour massage as i was quite stressed when I arrived not being able to contact friends on my phone to say I had arrived safely.
The staff were so helpful especially when I was unwell, they organised for me to visit a doctor & also a taxi to and from the clinic.

It was a very relaxing place to stay, close to amenities but off the main road. The gardens were beautifully maintained and the staff were friendly and professional. The breakfasts and the outdoor eating place were a wonderful start to the day.
