Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAlthough I can’t fault the staff—they were truly amazing—I do wish there was room service and the option to eat in the rooms. The food at the hotel isn’t the best, but I’d still recommend this place 100% for the experience and the insight it gives into the local culture. And this shouldn’t stop you from staying here, as there are plenty of amazing restaurants just a short walk away.
The staff were wonderful—always attentive and welcoming. The property was spotless, and the location is perfect, with everything in Ubud just a short walk away. Staying here also gives you a real insight into the local culture, making the experience even more special.

AustraliaWe stayed at Puri Kantor for 4 nights. The hotel is located in central ubud and has amazing architecture. The staff were amazing. They treated us like royalty and were very polite and accommodating. The room was very nice and clean. It was surprisingly quiet inside even though the hotel is located in a busy area. We were greeted with holy water blessing amd foot wash, and the staff made us feel welcomed. Highly recommended!!

ThailandThe traffic is very bad in Ubud. The breakfast wasn't worth an hour wait. Meegoreng was ok but the omelette was bland and boring. The breakfast staff weren't attentive at all though there were only 3-4 guests, but they were friendly. There are many nice cafes in Ubud so don't pay extra for the breakfast here.
The hotel is very beautiful and quiet. The location is right at the centre of Ubud.

The location is great, in the center of Ubud. You are staying in a part of the larger Palace area. The garden and rooms are arranged perfectly. Darmi and her team are super friendly and aiming to provide you an unforgettable stay. You can do a private purification ceremony, learn about local culture or go on a morning walk to experience the nature of ubud valley.

AustraliaFinding the Palace was a bit of a challenge when you are driving. I think more signage or information of the exact location to put on Google maps etc. Parking was off site and it would be good if this information was given to guests when the confirmation emails were sent Not ideal for people with mobility issues, a lot of stairs
Location is great, staffs are very friendly and helpful Palace is very grand and peaceful even though it is located in the heart of Ubud

AustraliaThere wasn’t an option for different pillows, and the ones provided were a bit larger and firmer than we usually prefer. It seems each room has its own hot water tank, and one evening the hot water ran out during our shower. Being right in the heart of Ubud and part of the historic palace, you may occasionally hear the sounds of evening performances, which adds to the atmosphere but might not suit everyone’s sleeping preferences.
Puri Kantor Legacy is a real part of the Ubud Palace, beautifully redecorated and opened to the public as a hotel. It’s a rare chance to stay inside this historical heritage site, right in the heart of Ubud. The rooms and beds are very comfortable, and the breakfast is lovely. A truly memorable place to stay

The location, is perfect to stay as it's in the prime location. If you don't know anything much about Ubud. This should be the very first point of my stay. The staff is amazing and do their best to give you a royal Balinese experience.

Puri Kantor is an exceptional place to stay that we will always remember. Our family suite had 3 huge bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living/ dining area, and huge balcony area and was so beautiful and ornately decorated in traditional balinese way. The beds were super comfortable and such thoughtful touches including welcome foot bath ritual, welcome drinks, welcome snacks and fruit. The staff especially Darmi and Ari and the whole team were amazing and looked after us so well. Puri Kantor has a very tranquil feel about it, and we feel privileged to have stayed here. Would love to come back!

United KingdomAbsolutely loved the accommodation! A beautiful and unique heritage property with so much charm. The room was stunning—spacious, fully functional, and the bed was huge and incredibly comfortable; I honestly had the best sleep ever. Room service came twice a day, and they even prepared the room for bedtime, which was such a lovely touch. The staff were fantastic—super friendly and always helpful. The location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of the town centre. I enjoyed every single walk in every direction—such a perfect stay!

AustraliaMy partner and I had the most incredible experience staying at Puri Kantor. From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in the rich Balinese culture through thoughtfully curated activities like canang sari making and a purification ceremony. The hotel itself feels like a hidden gem—nestled right opposite Ubud Palace, it offers a truly unique and authentic Bali experience. The palace grounds are breathtaking, and the location is unbeatable. You can walk to almost every major attraction in Ubud, from the serene rice paddies to the Monkey Forest. We especially loved the sunrise rice paddy walk, which gave us a peaceful glimpse into local life and the beauty of the landscape before the town wakes up. The restaurant is another highlight. Unlike many places that serve general Indonesian cuisine, this hotel offers a wide array of Balinese delicacies that are absolutely delicious (along with western and Indonesian options). The food is fantastic! The staff are exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. A special shoutout to Darmi, who went above and beyond to help us when I needed medical attention. She organized everything seamlessly, and the care I received was outstanding. Surrounded by fantastic restaurants, cafes, and spas, Puri Kantor is the perfect base for exploring Ubud. If you're looking for a stay that combines luxury, culture, and heartfelt hospitality, this is the place. Highly recommended!

SwitzerlandAbsolutely nothing.
This place is something else. We had an incredible experience that goes way beyond a normal hotel stay. First the architecture and Garden. You are staying in the king's "old" Palace. It has actually been newly renovated so it is in presteen condition. We were blown away by the Details and the craftmanship that goes into making such a bildung as well as the history that this place carries. The Gardens are immaculate and truly offer a Safe haven right in the middle of the very busy and bubbly Ubud. The contrast is striking. You are in the middle of the City but as soon as you step past the gate of the Palace, it is nothing but Peace and quiet. The Suite is big, modern and beautiful and leaves nothing left to be desired. You can feel the love for Details and excellent Service in every little thing from the decoration to the personnalised letter upon arrival to the way the room was upkept though out our stay. The Service was unlike any place we have stayed in the past. We truly felt like royalty during our stay. Not only was the Service excellent but also so Personal. Operation Chief Wayan Darmi was the Kindest. We really enjoyed learning how to do the offerings with her and are so thankful to her for making our stay so memorable. The breakfast food is incredible, you choose one item on the menu but it is a real meal. You can have an excellent fried Rice or some delicious pancakes Amongst many others. We would also highly recommend to try the Restaurant for Dinner. They Serve Traditional balinese dishes. Lastly the hotel offers many activities for an extra Fee. To us they were worth every penny. We had a private Yoga Session in the Palace Gardens as well as a cooking class and Lastly the purification Ritual. These are memories we will keep forever. If we ever come back to Ubud, we wouldn't think twice and come here again!

Puri Kantor Legacy - Heritage Palace was the perfect place to stay during our visit to Ubud. The location is unbeatable—right in the center of Ubud, yet the hotel grounds are peaceful, beautifully and full of charm. The staff were exceptional throughout our stay, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. A very special thanks to Ms. Darmi, who showed incredible kindness, we arrived in Ubud without our luggage, and she went out of her way to contact the lost luggage service and help us retrieve our bags as quickly as possible. Her care and dedication truly made a difference. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ubud. It offers not only convenience and comfort, but also a genuine sense of Balinese hospitality.
