How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewRasmini kindly WhatsApped me before my stay offering assistance if I needed anything. Upon arrival was greeted with fresh towel and welcome drinks. The check in was smooth and clear. The room met expectations, I stayed on premier suites (108). The room had towels arranged as a man and groom for our wedding anniversary. Different to the typical swan that you see. The breakfast range was decent and could be ordered to your room via WhatsApp. The free shuttle around Ubud was convenient to save getting a grab or walking around. Overall it was a great stay, would recommend and stay again based off the hospitality, location and price. Upon check out we were given a bottle off water for our journey and a little bracelet. thank you to the Sapodilla family
I got mosquito bites but that's to be expected, it's Ubud!

Verified reviewThere are places and people who act nice just to get a good review, and then there are those who are genuinely kind and caring. Sapodilla Ubud definitely falls into the second category. The staff here are truly wonderful—very friendly, extremely helpful, and always making sure guests feel at home. A special mention to Eka at the reception, who went out of her way to assist us and made our stay extra comfortable. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained, the breakfast is excellent, and the location is perfect. From the warm greetings to the attentive service, everything feels thoughtful and well-trained. We felt at home here and would highly recommend Sapodilla Ubud to anyone visiting Bali.

Verified reviewLovely hotel. Straight out of the room into the pool. Great location - short walk for the monkey forest and the same again for the centre of Ubud. Super friendly and helpful staff and great when things go wrong - our door came off its runners and we couldn't get in. Fixed in minutes while we had a swim. Massive breakfast!
Wifi wasn't great but I don't really care about that.

Verified reviewThe room was spacious with a balcony. We couldn't hear other guests in their rooms so it felt private. Breakfast was great. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The pool was nice and clean.
The location was a bit out of the main centre of Ubud but the hotel provides a free shuttle. It sometimes means waiting a while for the car though.

Verified reviewWe wanted to base ourselves more centrally for a few tours we had and ended up having a wonderful stay at Sapodilla Ubud. The staff there are fantastic and really look after you well. The room was very nice and spacious, we enjoyed drinks on the balcony a few times. Can highly rate their laundry service. The pool area looked lovely though we didn’t use it. This small hotel is just tucked away from the main street, very close to restaurants and bars in both directions. They offer a free shuttle service but we chose to walk more centrally as there was so much to see. We really enjoyed the restaurant Shoga that they’re attached to as well.
We had to reconnect to the wifi a number of times which didn’t bother us, but perhaps something to consider if anyone needed to use it more reliably.

Some parts feel slightly overused, especially the furnitures in the room.

Verified reviewThe location was good and breakfast was delicious. There was free shuttle service around the hotel vicinity, can be easily arranged via WhatsApp. Staff were super friendly and attentive to our needs. They never failed to give us a homely welcome every time we came back from after our activities outside. Room was very spacious, bed was extra big, with basic necessities like hair dryer and kettle. Pool was a delight, set in a beautiful and quiet surrounding. Staff would come with iced water and pool towels when they saw us chilling there. Totally enjoyed our stay there!
The bathtub did not drain well, some water pool on the floor. Our aircon was dripping water one night, but the maintenance staff resolved the issue quickly and efficiently. However we were still very happy with our stay there!
