How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe views are absolutely stunning, the staff are so friendly and the food was delicious.
Unfortunately the surrounding areas are not very safe as multiple men tried asking to take my wife home with them. A lot of creepy local men near the warungs.
Very sorry about your inconvenience with surrounding area, which we assume it is the workers of the construction of neighbourhood.

Verified reviewWe didn't like anything at all .
As a frequent Bali traveler I never had a bad experience like that . The landlord doesn't seem to have understood the spirit of rental business . He/she reacts very unfriendly to inquiries. He charges horrendous extra money for ridiculous extras. The accommodation is almost impossible to find. At the end of a construction street in bad condition. The condition of the villa is still under construction. There is rubbish everywhere. I would not recommend anyone to book the accommodation. There are many, many accommodations in Bali with much more warmth and better value for money.
It is very ridiculous that you make a review while you never stay at our villa. When we check at the location you never come and stay at our villa. You made a booking and you contacted us that you want to check in very early in the morning at 08.00 while our check in time at 14.00. You said that you want to pay some extra in order to check in at 08.00 which is finally we agree. But you never come to our villa. It is impossible that the villa is still under construction and there is rubbish everywhere, you must be get the wrong villa.

Verified reviewVery nice little house with 2 big rooms, an open kitchen, a private pool and small roof top. The women that prepared us the good breakfast also propose us a very kind taxi driver. If you want a quiet house to escape the noisy Ubud, with a pool and nice tradicional rooms in wood this is the place. You need a taxi or a scooter.

Verified reviewBreakfast was good, served on terrace with fantastic view. The location is not walking distance to Ubud, you do need to arrange a taxi or rent a scooter to get into town, that is why it is so quiet and special. The owners are super accommodating, very friendly.
Nothing

Verified reviewNice pool, modern room, beautiful view, helpful staff. Quiet place.
Wifi sometimes stopped working, needed to ask help, however staff could fix it. The place was pretty difficult for grab drivers to find. Breakfast was not very good.

Verified reviewOverall, this is a really nice place, and the overall score I gave reflects that! Do note that it's a little secluded, far off the main road and you might feel like you're driving into a dead end when you arrive. The seclusion though is part of the charm, and you won't be disturbed by any traffic noise, daytime or night. And you won't be jammed right in the middle of Ubud traffic. My comments about what I didn't like are more things to take note of, rather than things that "I hated", as I certainly enjoyed my stay in this place very much.
The breakfast was quite limited. It wasn't bad, but there was no selection available. The chef decided what to cook and that was more or less it. It wasn't by any means bad, but I think it's something worth noting when the booking is made. ____ The shower took quite a while to heat up. ___ One of the other guests has made the shared living room/tv room/dining area into his personal office, and is quite unfriendly towards other guests who try to use the space when he's "working", which is quite often.

Verified reviewAmazing staff, great breakfast. the accomodation is really modern and you can see that a great deal of effort was put into this construction. would love to come back here.
The road towards the accomodation had a small rough patch (about 5 -10 meters). So just be careful when driving there but I am sure this can be easly fixed.

Verified reviewThis place is a dream! The property is amazing and in such a quiet location. The room is so clean and freshly decorated. It faces a little rice field and waking up and having breakfast in the morning with this surroundings is a beautiful way to start the day. The two boys and the young lady (so sorry we didn’t get your names) we’re so polite and very helpful. We felt so peaceful staying at this place. Highly recommended! Thank you
WiFi was a little intermittent on a couple days but that didn’t really bother us
