How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Our suite was above the kitchen/ restaurant area so a bit noisy until 10.30 pm and then again from 7ish- wouldn’t stop us going again though, just a minor observation during an otherwise excellent stay.

Although the outdoor shower is a wonderful touch, it is a haven for mosquitoes.

When booking I had no idea that there were extensive building works going on. Had I known I wouldn't have booked a stay here. Work starts around 7/8am in morning and goes on late into the evening every day. So if you want a lie in, peaceful breakfast or to relax around the pool don't stay here. On arrival around 5pm after a very long journey with children we checked into our room and could very clearly hear the workmen on the building site directly behind our rooms. We immediately spoke to the reception staff to voice our concerns and asked to speak to the manager. He wasn't present and was unavailable for the duration of the stay, leaving the poor staff to deal with daily complaints. We were offered a comp massage and £25 off dinner for the inconvenience. We were also finally offered a full refund if we wanted to leave and find somewhere else to stay but by this point it was around 8pm and being peak season in Lombok there were no alternative options of a similar standard or location. The owner also communicated via staff that there was construction work going everywhere in Lombok, like this was some kind of excuse for not being transparent about the building works. During our stay the swimming pool was also out of action for two days due to some kind of sludge in the water. We moved rooms after two days to the other side of the hotel partly due to the noise, partly due to the damp smell in our bedroom. Other guests were also being moved during our stay. It's a shame as the hotel is a nice design, offers good food, has lovely staff, is in a great location and has great potential but fell very short on our visit, especially as we paid £1,000 for two rooms for a five night stay. It needs to be transparent about the building works and make it very clear on the website that this work is going on alongside lowering its rates to compensate.

A lot of building work going on behind property so if you want a long lie you won’t get this. However aware this is not the hotels fault but no info on this before booking. Staff meeting being held in restaurant before we left whereby they were being shouted at by I’m guessing was manager. This shouldn’t have been done infront of guests. Constructive feedback rather than shouting should be given away from the customer.
