How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We loved staying in the traditional Balinese rooms. There is a bar next door where there is always live bands which we really love. Just be mindful this finishes around 12pm, so it is a little noisy. We still love the location, staff and breakfast.

The location was a bit far away to walk to centre of ubud we had to get taxis. We were on the bottom level which was nice for pool access but we could hear the upstairs guests moving around.

We had rooms on the same floor as reception. It was so loud at night with traffic , dogs and staff in the staff room, we couldn’t sleep. We had both suites and room 1 and 2 - room 1 was full of mould and smelt so damp. The smell was so strong we advised the staff although they didn’t seem to understand. The breakfast was not good very basic and tastes like they microwave everything. We wouldn’t stay here again

Verified reviewThe staff were incredible. Every person who worked there was warm and welcoming. Breakfast was tasty and had 4 options to choose from, traditional options or more western. Any issues we had (safe not working, no hairdryer) were sorted straight away! Very good value for money, we used this hotel as a base and didn’t spend much time there so we were happy for a cheaper option Out of the centre so nice and quiet but 5mins on a moped and you’re in the centre
You get what you pay for, the hotel is run down in places, we had tiles missing in our bathroom and one of the main corridors had a small hole in the ceiling. If you are looking for a cheap, clean room with friendly staff then this is the hotel for you

Verified reviewWe loved our stay at Nata Ubud. The staff were so friendly and helpful and helped us at a moment's notice when we had an issue with our bathroom sink. They helped us with daily tours and airport pickup was a breeze! I would highly recommend staying here when in Ubud. Easy access to central Ubud and very lovely restaurants just a few minutes walk away from the accommodation.

The facilities are outdated, the drying racks cannot be replaced, and the clothes are rubbed black after drying. The bathroom equipment is old, the hygiene is not up to standard, there are stains on the bed sheets, the room is not cleaned carefully, and the sealed bottled water has been opened and not replaced. The room was spacious, but not bright enough. Breakfast taste is average, you need to make an appointment with the front desk one day in advance, if you walk carefully outside the restaurant in rainy weather, it is easy to slip and fall when covered with green moss, especially for the elderly. There are many mosquitoes and ants. Skin allergies, only three days to check out early, the remaining nearly halt a month room rate can not be negotiated with the hotel refund, finally, the hotel yin and yang weird sent a free drop-off. Be cautious when booking a room, especially if it's long.

Verified reviewStaff friendliness during breakfast time.
They put me and my family down on the corner of the hotel. Room is not clean enough and also towel. Pool was not clean (many leaves). I have asked an upgrade during check in and no follow-up.
