The "Welcome" introduction felt like arriving at summer camp - a long list of dos and don'ts. Quite a dangerous slippery path down to the villas (I slipped and cut my leg).

Staff friendliness, rural setting, pool, dives, meals. Staff (Jessie) went out of their way to help with a lost baggage situation.

We stayed at Thalassa for 3days and loved every minute of our stay. Beautiful resort area, lush gardens, amazing food, friendly staff, wellness center, beautiful rooms etc. The owner supports the local community with a foundation raising money in the Netherlands, the money is used to support young people get a proper school and job education in the tourist sector. AMAZING!

We had the chance to stay 4 nights at Thalassa with our two children (Villa Ginseng). We absolutely loved exploring Manado and its surroundings and introducing the whole family to snorkeling in a breathtaking setting, all perfectly organized by the resort team. Everything was simply fantastic! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, the surroundings were stunning, and the food was absolutely delicious. A flawless experience from start to finish!

Great accomodation, very nice bungalows and very good spot if you want to go snorkeling or diving. Great owners and staff who are really helpful and hospitable. Different from other accommodations in a good sense, we recommend this place to everyone who likes a personal and friendly environment.

Amazing resort for diving and other activities. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and clean and have large windows, which gives the feeling to be in the middle of nature. The diving equipment, boat and guides are great and allow for excellent diving experience. However, don't miss to do the activities as well. The local guides are really nice people and can tell a lot about the local life and things to see on the tours. We enjoyed our stay very much.

That it was not on a beach or had hiking areas. But we knew that when we booked.

This is neither a luxury or a budget resort. It is a very good middle ground resort and that is their business niche which is important in that there are several very expensive resorts at one end of the resort spectrum and home stays at the other end. This is positioned right in the middle and perfect for divers that want to experience coral and muck diving. Their motto is leave as a friend and they meet that goal. Staff are great.

My wife and I do a lot of traveling and I must say the Thalassa Dive Resort does it right. The food is plentiful and fresh, the grounds are well kept, the bungalows and villas are comfortable, and there is world class wall and muck diving minutes away. However, the real gem at Thalassa are the genuinely friendly staff. The manager Arjen personally took the time to find out our interests and provided with top notch concierge service arranging all of our activities during our stay, along with joining us for some meals and taking us on a tour of Manado. The rest of the staff made us feel like part of their family with endless smiles and lots of conversation. One of the young ladies even joined us on a dive on her day off work. We can’t wait until our next visit.

Nothing really, maybe just clean the pool a bit more often. But everything was perfect.

Honestly everything, I loved this place! The big windows in the rooms really puts you in touch with nature, they are spacious, clean and modern. You have AC working perfectly, for ANY question you can easily WhatsApp the members of the staff, the food was amazing every day and even well presented. The swimming pool area was just so beautiful and peaceful. This place was just way above my expectations, if I knew it I would have stayed here more days. And the staff was lovely and extremely kind. If I am back in manado I will certainly stay here no doubts.

We would have liked some muesli and yoghurt for breakfast. No cooling in the front room of the Villa which was hot, but air conditioner in the bedroom was great and it has great reading lamps. Really, I would rate the property 9 out of 10 not 8 as Booking.com app determines.

Staff were excellent and friendly. The Thalassa business model of employing and training local people in diving, catering, office administration, gardening etc is brilliant. Plus their relationship with the local schools in training and practical skills in the resorts and varied business actives is beneficial for gaining employment across the island. Wow I wish more people would fund and organise such a a successful wholistic model. Absolutely 10 out of 10. Snorkelling exceptional.

I cant remember the last time I stayed at a hotel/resort and everyone knew my name, it was most endearing. Loved that the staff took the trouble to remember us all and always conversed with the warmest smile, really did leave the resort as a friend :) The room was clean, nice and surrounded by green! I also really enjoyed how guests were seated together for meals, made some wonderful friends and had really interesting conversations about diving and everything else with people from all over the world.

When you book for a massage, tell the massage lady exactly which body parts you want to have massaged, and which ones you don't! Otherwise you may be in for an unwanted surprise! ;-)

The staff and the owner were amazing! Genuinely friendly 1st class service without exception. You could see, people actually liked to work at that place! The food was excellent quality, versatile and very tasty, 3- course meals for lunch and dinner. The manager went out of his way to lend me one of their laptops for my studies afterhours, thank you so much for your help and trust, Arjen. And thank you so much to Jessie, for accompanying me to the Catholic Church in Manado during heavy rain; what an adventure!

This place is truly awesome! Simone and her staff spoiled us completely. The restaurant was exceptional, both in variety and quality of the meals! We also had great dives at the beautiful Bunaken dive sites with the crew of the Thalassa Dive Center who made sure that our diving experience was great. The bungalows at the new Thalassa resort are spacious, have great terraces and are a joy to stay in.

Simone, Maria, Ranty and the dive crew made it flawless. from the moment we arrived we fell in love with the tropical green paradise they have created. The lovely ladies at reception running to get us mosquito spray and offering to lend us their bikes shows their commitment to guest’s happiness and their beautiful kind hearts. The stunning freshwater pool that is not only the perfect temperature to cool down but is surrounded by bird song and lush gardens with flowers and canopies to admire as you float. The rooms with their glass jungle views and lovely comfy beds! The children adored their meal times with a game of pool on the side. Every meal was delicious and served with a smile. Then when we took our boat trips the Thalassa crew were full of sunshine smiles and laughter. Great companions for snorkelling, diving and jumping off the boat with the children. Creating memories we will never forget.

The resort is located in a beautiful area full of trees and flowers. The bungalows are a natural part of the environment, with glass windows and doors. It is like living in and with nature. The staff is very friendly and supportive, the owner is a great inspirator, not only about diving and holiday making, also about social work in the village. We had a very relaxing, warm and inspiring holiday!
