The perfect place to enjoy diving in Lembeh Strait

Wonderful people (both in the resort and for the dive center), very good food (especially important it's mostly local food although they will accommodate special requests), beautifully kept gardens, and most importantly: fantastic location for getting to the dive sites.

The dive guides at Lembeh were lovely and they were great spotters but did not always stick close.to the group and darted around a lot. I got a bit anxious as i was using my air quickly but they were happy for me to start saftey stops on 40/30 bar (which im not used to), it was often me telling them that i wanted to do my saftey stop, despite ensuring they knew my air consumption. However they responded well to feedback.

I booked my trip in a rush, hoping to make a once in a lifetime visit to Sulawesi. I hadn't done much research, so it wasn't until I arrived in Lembeh that I realised I was far away from the famous Bunaken and could only do muck diving in Lembeh. The muck diving was PHENOMANAL for anyone wanting to see tiny stuff. However meeting other guests who had the foresight of booking the Manado and Lembeh sister resorts, I felt a bit embarrassed and a whole load of FOMO for coming to Sulawesi and not seeing Bunaken. I spoke to the management at Lembeh and they went away with my thoughts and after a day came back to confirm they had secured me a room and transfer at the sister resort in Manado and i would be able to continue my diving in Bunaken - and yes it was worth it, the coral walls and the turtles made it all worthwhile. The staff were attentive and lovely at both resorts. The dive guides in Mando were very mature and excellent. The food was great and the atmosphere between guests was excellent. I had a fab time as a solo traveller at both Thalassa resorts.

Thalassa was a great stay. The staff were outstanding. Super friendly and helpful, especially when I had some complications with my travel plans. I definitely hope to go back one day!

You can not drive around the island unless you take a tour with the resort. You can have walks but you have to climb steep hills. This made us feel trapped in this place although we still walked a lot to discover a max and crossed many villages, great viewpoints and secret beaches. The beach of the resort is black and full of plastic trash which the team deseperatly tries to clean up all day long every day but with no success., the volume of trash seems to depend on the current . That said, when you cross the trash you come to a white sand beach in 5 minutes max with no trash and no people and really beautiful and very big where you can swim, ask for the way because you can not see it as its behind the resort and not belonging to the resort. No Wifi connection in the rooms and very poor connection in the restaurant, I could not work with it at all. Some days the divivg took place in the middle of trash, only one great dive in 8 days (Magic Rock) but it depends on the current again.

The service team is very helpful and friendly. The food changes every day and includes barbecue and even pizza at some days. The bungalows are very nicely decorated. The pool is really long, you can do real swimming in it!!! The setting in the jungle is really beautiful and resort very comfy and clean. The Padi course for our kids was very good.
