This is a very good hotel. The breakfast was excellent. Standard room a bit on the small side. It’s a bit away from ‘the 'action’ of Jalan Malioboro but that was a positive imho. Great to visit Jalan Malioboro in the evening but very touristy area you can get a Grab to Jalan Malioboro in a few minutes. the hotel is very close to the Kraton (Yogyakarta's Sultan's Palace) and Taman Sari (Water Castle)

NetherlandsEven though the room is sufficiently big (we had a deluxe room), the desk placement is awkward. It is fixed to the wall on the short ends, which makes the longer side stick out. We had an extra bed, which still leaves enough room next to the sofa, but the sticking out desk block the way and we have to step over the extra bed to get to the other side of the room. The shower screen could be designed better. Water splashes through the lower end and makes the bathroom floor outside the shower quite wet. No mop was provided. Stains on the sofa. My child refused to sit on it. It remains unused during our stay. The curtains have a small gap in between from which light still comes through. It would be a good idea to provide liquid hand soap instead of a bar one (which will be thrown away before they are used up anyway). Also, usually, a four star hotel provides each guest with a face towel and a hand towel for in the bathroom.
The bed is absolutely comfy, and guarantee a good night sleep! It was clean overall, and the building itself is relatively new. The staff are helpful and friendly, and issues are quick to be resolved. The breakfast options are extensive and quite good, and some are rotated, so you'll see something different every day. The à la carte restaurant menu also lives up to our expectations. Free refill of water from the many dispensers on each floor. The location is in the city centre and convenient to many usual tourist destinations.

The hotel is in a good location. It is in the middle of Jogja and easy to get tuc tuc, delman or taxi to all the local tourist attractions. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, it was a pleasure to stay. The hotel does a lot of business with conventions, so it is always busy. The included breakfast was very extensive for choice, with all food being fresh daily. Espresso coffee was also very good. Would come back for sure. The room rate was very good.

United StatesAt breakfast, the latte or cappuccino need to charge extra. Location was not close to the center of the town, need to take crab, and the traffic was bad.
Staff was very friendly and very helpful. The lady at the front desk gave us recommendation for restaurants etc. Good English. Room was pretty big. Very good breakfast. Location is pretty convenient, many good restaurants close by, even though still need to take a crab or walk 15-20min. Mediterranea Restaurant by Kamil was very good, but require reservation in advance. Yogyakarta was a great travel destination, we enjoyed it a lot. We could watch sunrise in our room.

IndonesiaThe kid's pool said height 0.6m but seemed much lower than that. Adult pool is 1.5m. Not really a complaint but there is no in between height for bigger kids or small indonesians who nearly all can't swim. The hotel knew we were a family of 3 but only provided 2 towels so each day had to contact housekeeping for an extra towel. The breakfast was a decent selection but the taste was just average. Felt that charging Rp75k for a not-included small kid's breakfast was too expensive.
Nice hotel, good location, room sufficient size and clean, lifts work well, air conditioning good, shower hot, tv channels fine, bed large and comfortable. All staff dealt with were very polite, pleasant and helpful. Easy large parking area.

During our stay in Indonesia, The Aston had by far the best bed, best room facilities and best breakfast options. The bed was firm but comfortable and both of us slept soundly. The facilities in the room were great, and daily housekeeping was done well. The breakfast buffet was the standout though, with western and local options - and lots of them. Each day there were new dishes to try. The staff at the hotel were all top notch, and very good to deal with.
