Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNice guest house! Great location near to all the good stuff in Jogja. The bed is very comfortable compared to most in the city. Nice welcoming people, free cold and hot water, hot showers, tea coffee and fast internet. You can do much worse! I've stayed in Jogja a lot and this is a good one. Thanks guys

GermanyJulia is very friendly and quite knowledgeable. She arranged a private driver for us, who is highly recommended. English was not a problem. Our family room was in the middle section, and it was quiet there. The front rooms are near the street and the entrance. The back rooms are by the courtyard, which is accessible to all guests. There, you can prepare drinks. There is also a communal kitchen that looked well-maintained. The room amenities were clean but very basic and could therefore be a bit cheaper. However, the price is probably based on the local rent.

GermanyUnfortunately, the guest kitchen was not very clean and we were not invited to use it. For example, the dishwashing sponge would need to be replaced urgently.
The hosts are very helpful and always there for their guests. The room and bathroom were very, very clean. The nearby street could only be heard a little in the room, later in the evening it was quiet. It was really nice to sit in the courtyard. The homestay is well located for sightseeing in Yogyakarta; shops, restaurants and a great ice cream parlor can also be reached after a short walk.

SingaporeWater pressure in the shower was slow, washing hair took a while. Bathroom is small so everything is wet after a shower. But not a deal breaker. The room facing the road lets the traffic sounds in but late in the night it’s not bad.
It was a clean, the bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked well. Location was convenient, easy to walk to nearby coffee shops and restaurants. Loved the little garden area with coffee and tea to chill with friends. There is a small kitchen and also a fridge and water dispenser. Julia was super helpful with planning our day, suggesting places to visit, nearby restaurants, good place for a massage, arranging a private car for a tour. Thank you Julia for making our stay so memorable.

Czech RepublicNoisy fan in the bathroom, but its only trifle in this beautiful oase.
Its an exceptional Hostel. One of the best ones I have been so far. Its small but you will feel like home. There is a beautiful garden inside where you can chill out during your stay and in the afternoon. Room is very comfy with two beds and some basic furniture. There is hanger outside for your wet towels. Bathroom is clean and quite big. There was just one thing which was annoying and this the bathroom light switch, which will also automatically switch-on the noisy fan (it can wake up rest of the family members). Breakfast is tasty, I am sure you will enjoy it. The host and his wife are super friendly. They will help you with getting around and arranging driver for whole day, which can take you to Prambanan, Borobudur, Merapi mountain, Watterfalls, Mariboro street, Luwang Coffee etc. It was also our pleasure to talk with them about daily life in Yogya. Hostel is ver close to the Sultan Palace and Mariboro, so you can make it by walk. Would happily return again, because we felt like at home all the time.

ItalyEverything was perfect.
The Bloomy House is a place where you can feel at home. There is everything you need to visit Yogyakarta: a very comfortable and tidy room and a curated common space. It's near to the city center and restaurants. You can also book a tour or a driver to visit the surroundings.

AustriaUnfortunately no breakfast offered. Common area is cozy, but it would be nice if you offered some drinks and snacks for buying (free water, coffee, tea available though) When taking a shower, the toilet is set under water. The room nearest to the street is really really really loud. We are used to noisy rooms, but the window is so thin that you got the feeling, that you are sitting on the sidewalk of a busy street. Also the mosque nearby sounds like the megaphone is located your room and they start off very early in the morning. Also the inner door points into the main lobby and you will hear any coming and leaving guest plus checkout procedure. This room should be seriously discounted, you won't be able to get normal sleep here.
Nice English-speaking staff. Clean room. Very cozy common area. Sweet architecture. And we could leave our luggage here prior our check in and post our check out.
