Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyAbsolutely outstanding – far beyond expectations! 🌺✨ We stayed at the Kalyana Ubud Resort and were truly overwhelmed by the hospitality and beauty of this place. Due to some technical issues with Booking.com – for which the hotel was absolutely not responsible – we were offered a free upgrade as a gesture of kindness. This is far from self-evident, and we were genuinely touched and grateful. The resort itself is a dream come true – peaceful, beautifully designed, and surrounded by breathtaking nature. It could not have been better. The staff are extraordinarily warm-hearted, always greeting us with a smile, and they were quick to assist with any request or question. Their service is on a level you rarely experience. The massages here are an absolute must – without doubt the best we have ever had. Pure relaxation from start to finish. All in all, we are certain that on our next visit to Ubud, we will stay at the Kalyana Ubud Resort again – without hesitation. If we could give 20 points instead of 10, we definitely would! 🌿💛

France- The noise: unfortunately I had very noisy neighbors and the walls/ceilings are very thin so I didn t enjoy very good nights. But thats not the resort s fault. Things get busy early in the morning so its not very quiet esp if you are looking for rest after your flight. - Location: the resort is located in a quiet area, not directly in Ubud s center which is great to have some quiet time but it also means that you need a car to go anywhere. You will need at least 30 min to go to Ubud. It took me 2 h30 to go to the rice terraces because of traffic jam so you may want to plan accordingly.
- The SPA: its simply amazing!! The massages are divine. You have to try them. Probably the best in my life. - The hospitality: the staff is incredibly kind, always eager to help and make your stay unique. - Room: bed is very comfortable, the view over the garden is stunning. Wifi available everywhere. - The restaurant is also very practical so you don t have to go out at night. Special mention for the banana pancakes in the morning.

A smallish quiet property. Lush greenery everywhere, our room had a view of a paddy field, very friendly and helpful staff. Located walking distance from convenience stores and a couple of good restaurants than provide alternative options for meals

AustraliaJust be warned the shuttle is not included and it is a 40 minute walk into the centre, unless you are prepared to scooter, as the traffic is horrendous. I didn’t mind the walk but it is not for everyone!
Very serene and beautiful, not right in the hustle and bustle of central Ubud. The staff were exceptional and even provided us with breakfast before our Mount Batur tour. Rooms were spacious and immaculate.

New ZealandEverything is great!!!
It’s very clean, huge bathroom with hot and cold showers. The bed was very comfortable! Apart from toiletries, they provide sleepers and bathrobes. Safety deposit too, which we did not use it! The breakfast was very good and the restaurant was overlooking to the pool! The staff were very accommodating and friendly! Quite place away from the hassle and buzzle…

United KingdomWe did half board having dinner included in the price. For that there is a separate menu where you can choose 1 starter , 1 main and 1 dessert. We just felt that that menu was a little bit underwhelming. I feel like probably that menu needs to be reviewed or just let the customer choose from the main one. The staff was extremely helpful and they let us choose from the main menu instead of the set menu.
As soon as we arrived we felt extremely welcomed, we made it to the hotel at 3am and the hotel staff was there to wait for us. The process of check in was smooth and quick. The room was WOW, although we wished we went for the rice field once (so if you have to choose between the 2, definitely upgrade to the rice field one). The room has everything you need and it is extremely comfortable. We did half board (dinner included) for all 2 of us, we stayed with our 2 years old. Breakfast is buffet and it was EXCELLENT, they prepare omlette, pancake etc on the spot and there is a big variety of food to choose from. The hotel does not have shuttle for Bali centre, but they have transfers that take you there as well as for the airport. The staff was also incredibly kind and helpful all the time! Our stay was amazing, we wished we stayed longer.

AustraliaThe hotel is a fair way from the centre of town - there is a transfer service but with Bali traffic this takes a while. The rooms are not particularly well soundproofed - we could hear everything from the adjoining room, and assume they could do the same.
This is a nice resort, the staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool area seemed nice - unfortunately it rained for most of our visit, so we didn't get to take advantage of it. The food was reasonably good with a mix of cuisines.

SingaporeThe restaurant was alright but there are many even better food options in and around Ubud.
This little oasis sits in a quiet area just south of downtown Ubud. Facilities are well maintained and our villa with private pool was spacious and perfectly comfortable. Driving into the city takes about 10 minutes and we had no trouble getting cabs. There's a supermarket just outside the entrance, and the hotel is in walking distance to the superb restaurant Wedja.
