Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandThe property is built on a hillside and the rooms are partially underground, so there is some water damage in the rooms. However, being in the wet tropics, it is a phenomenon that is impossible to avoid. The aircon does remove some of the moisture and the ventilation in the bathroom could have been a bit more effective, but it is impossible to change the moisture content of the air from what it is naturally. The hotel does show some wear and tear due to time, but it is clearly maintained regularly. If you are sensitive to moisture, think about the time of the year you travel and try to avoid the wettest times of the year. The hotel is a bit further from the city center, but that allows for a calm and resting atmosphere. There are nice restaurants nearby, but there are no streetlights anywhere so going to eat elsewhere for dinner is an experience, unless you go so far that you take a Grab. Grab is the Asian competitor for Uber and worked very well in the area, though we had also hired our own driver for a lot of our pre-planned excursions. The only thing that really bothered us in the room was that it was one of the worst lit rooms we have had in Hotels. It was very difficult to get decent overall lighting for just packing your suitcase or doing your make-up etc. Mood lighting is nice, but sometimes one needs a decent normal lighting as well.
The staff was extremely helpful and all requirements were answered promptly. Breakfast was excellent, there was a wonderful gluten-free selection. You choose the breakfast from a set of pre-set menus, but there's enough for everyone's tastes and you can choose different options each morning. Due to the set menu the breakfast service is a bit slower, but you can request a speedy delivery if you are in a hurry, for us it worked wonderfully on the one morning we were pressed for time. The hotel stay was wonderful, we wished we would have had more time to enjoy the activities the hotel had to offer. The spa was one of the best we had on our trip to Indonesia. Do not miss out on the photography session they offer either, you will not regret having professional photos taken. The restaurant is also a good option for dinner, the food was good!

AustraliaThe drinks menu at the pool wasn’t very varied and the towels could have been updated. They do offer a free shuttle drop off and pick up service to/from Ubud but the traffic can be intense so the times aren’t reliable, make sure you have data to be able to contact the reception/driver during pick up.
The room was really good, with a super large and comfortable bed and an incredible bath. The private balcony was a great to have your morning breakfast if you don’t want to sit in the restaurant. We loved the complimentary afternoon tea and various activities they offer each day. It’s in walking distance to some cafes and restaurants.

United StatesMy river pool room wasn’t the cleanest in terms of the patio. I understand it’s a part of nature but I couldn’t enjoy it as much because of it being dirty outside.
The aesthetics and the staff were amazing! And the location was perfect!

United KingdomI absolutely loved Sankara suites! The hotel itself was really nice! The grounds were very nice and well kept, loved the jungle aesthetic for the general areas. Our room was nice and kept, only thing which is absolutely minor is the shower/bathroom could be a little better maintained for the rooms. We opted for the spa bath which was amazing. The pool area I loved! Overseeing the forest essentially. The food was okay and we got mocktails but have tasted better mocktails. Main thing is the service here. It was absolutely amazing, the level of service we got seemed like a 5* and a big shoutout to the lobby guys, always had a smile on their faces and very welcoming

AustraliaWe had a fantastic stay at the Sankara Suites and Villas by Pramana. The location is quiet and peaceful, and although it is about a 20 minute trip into town, the resort has a free shuttle that can take you. The staff were very attentive and friendly, and the rooms and facilities are beautiful - even better than the photos! The breakfast included in our package were amazing every day as well! If I returned to Ubud I would definitely stay here again!

LatviaIt's a great resort with even better staff. The biggest value of this resort is its stuff. Every employee is motivated to help and assist you. Everybody was very professional, kind, helpful and friendly. The location is very convenient because the resort is located only 10min away from the center. Still, it is also located close to the jungles, so you get those jungle vibes while being very close to the city. The hotel also offers free shuttles to the center and back several times per day.

United KingdomOnly thing we felt the villa needed was a bit more light, as felt a bit dark sometimes.
We had a villa with a pool which was lovely. Staff were helpful at all times, breakfast and dinners we had were all lovely. We used the spa facilities too which were fantastic. Couldn’t fault our stay at all! Note on the shuttle - The hotel is a little bit out of Ubud but the shuttle service was always really good. Some reviews we read before we stayed said it took an hour to get to Ubud but we never experienced this at all and always made it in good time - we did go in at 9am though!

AustraliaThe hotel itself is a bit out of the main town and with the traffic being very hectic at all hours it takes a while to get there, 10 - 15 mins in car. The beds were not the most comfortable but still ok. The towels definitely could do with being replaced.
Massages at the hotel's spa were great. Staff in all departments were very nice, good service and very attentive. Rooms were promptly cleaned each day. Pool was clean but could do with a few extra sunbeds. Not enough for all the guests. Breakfast was great, plenty to choose from.
