How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWhere do we start? It was a little slice of heaven. The decor in the room was beautiful, quirky outdoor bathroom. The gardens were immaculate. Beautiful friendly staff who made the effort to greet us by name everyday. Great value, location was perfect. The breakfast was lovely and fresh every morning. The massages were very relaxing and good value. Oh and lastly, the beautiful cats (who I didn’t feed my chicken from my nasi goreng every morning - shhhh 😜).

Verified reviewGreat location, short walk to beach and Biorock. Nice restaurants and bar on beach to chill out. Well maintained garden and pool. The scent of frangipanis everywhere was a treat to senses. Helpful team.
Cleanliness can be improved. Time to change the pillows. See photos of two pillows. The other two were the same. Enclosed outdoor shower and basin didnt work well for me as it gets sunny in there. Met with a huge cockroach in the bathroom at night. Have to walk everywhere as there was no gojek or grab. While Permuteran was not big, it was very hot and dusty in the day with hardly any tree cover, and big trucks passing by. Some other lodges provide free push bikes tp get around but there was none available at Tirta Sari.

Verified reviewLoved the Old World Bali charm. The location of Tirta Sari was excellent as we could walk to warongs and the beach. We enjoyed an excellent snorkeling trip seeing a kaleidoscope of underwater colours.
We found the amount of cats that were roaming freely in the restaurant area very unpleasant.

We had a mouse in one of our rooms during two nights before we could change room. They caught the mouse after the first night but maybe it came back or there was a while family. The first night we had only one room for four, but the price of adding 2 mattresses was as expensive as the room (665k for the room and 600k for 2 mattresses). Afterwards we had two rooms (we knew in advance that the first night we would have only one room). Transfer from the airport: the driver didn't come to the passenger arrival but to another pickup point that we weren't aware of. It took us more than one hour to find him. It would have been good to know in advance where to find him.

We're glad our staff was able to catch ,but you have to know the rat dropping are in your bags and that's have long we think, and you lough about when our staff cleaning your bags, this is first time for us the mouse on the room, but we understand this happened in our hotel even it in not our expected ,and as we do the best have been provide a room change in next day , Regarding the room arrangements, we already do agreement as the your email before your coming , so that it was not our mistake ,and you have to be happy because we do upgrade your room than your booking ( Standard ) we do understand that the cost of additional mattresses but that's already agreement on booking by email . but We'll take your feedback into consideration to improve our pricing transparency. We also regret the miscommunication about the airport transfer pickup location. we have to be honestly you just waiting driver not in arrival gate you just walk out and out until you in trought to the portal ,and you are wrong potation just you in that area in that moment you have to aware your wrong way you past the arrival gate ,but we understand and we have been give you less than normal price as you won't to pay normal, next We'll make sure to provide clearer instructions in the future. The restaurant is good, just not quite great. Exactly what you'd expect, really. Breakfast was the usual Bali options with not a great deal of flair, but good enough.

Verified reviewNice quiet location with cozy pool. And the beach is 1 minute away and there a lot of natural reefs right there, near the hotel with a lot of fish, we enjoyed snorkeling there. I would also suggest an Ijen tour, since it's quite close and an unforgettable experience, especially if your lucky enough to see the blue flames. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.

Verified reviewLocation is great being so close to the beach and many restaurants. Resort felt very safe and the staff were super friendly.
Arranged pick up from the airport and checked 3 weeks before coming that it was arranged and confirmed it was, to find out on the day we arrived in Denpasar that no one was there to pick us up. Slightly frustrating but able to arrange something with a taxi at the airport for a slightly higher fee.

Not an issue for Tirta Sari per se but operators nearby at beach charge use fee but avoid paying National Park fee at Menangan island and lunch spot is a pile of plastic rubbish with nowhere to sit !!! so beware caveat emptor

Verified reviewHotel is not very big, with limited number of bungalow settled around a garden and a swimingpool. All are settle so that there no vis-à-vis, in calm area away from road noise. Bungalow was very nice with beautiful outside bathroom. Disapointing at first sight, but convenient and confortable in such country. Wonderful swiming pool, clean, with nice vegetation surrounding, flowers and a bar with seat in the water at the end. Hotel is 2 min walk from beach, and close from all commodities. Good small spa area is available all daylong at good price so very convenient as well. Breakfast was very good, served at table with choice and fresh fruit juice. Regarding restaurant, it was really good and very well presented for reasonable price. It is not pur habit at all but we finally took all our 3 diners here without disappointment. Spending few walk in other resort around much more higher standard on the paper, I highly prefer this small hotel one, much more confidential.
Our bungalow had a door locked, shared with a twin one. It was not a problem during our stay since nobody was there, but I wonder if it could be disturbing if occupied.
