How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The staff were nice but they give us a smoking room when we should have a non smoking room because on the website it said non smoking room, the room was not clean the floor was filthy, the bed sheets had stains all over them and the pillows were old and yellow from sweat stains and ripped, the bed had bed bugs and the toilet was not cleaned, the kettle did not work and they said on the website the tv has cable but only had 5 local channels, the pool was tiny and was not like the photos on the website, I do not recommend staying there and will never go back.

We got room with broken air conditioner. And their actions are: 1. They didn't let us change room 2. They repair the AC for 1 hour, and they don't come fast. We need to call the reception twice and go to the front desk once to get it repaired around 4 - 5 am. And it get broken again 3 hours after "repaired" We only get 3 hours sleep. We cannot rest on the noon, because the ac is broken. So we went to mall to let them repair it. The receptionist (woman with shoulder length hair, tanner, and slim) is very rude. When we called them to ask whether the AC is repaired or not, she hungs up the phone 2 times. Then on the third call, we asked them to check it first if it already repaired, because we need to get rest directly when we got back to the hotel,, since we only get 3 hours of sleep. But her answer is, "you can check it by yourself ma'am." What?? Then, guess what? When we got back, the ac is still broken. When we asked to change the room, they said "no," and they expect us to wait again to be repaired. Then we ask to check out and refund but they didn't let us do that. After waiting for 1 hour, we got another room, yes the air conditioner is cool,, but it gives us ringing sound. And the curtains are ripped.. Also we saw baby cockroach in the bathroom As I can see. The hotel is lack of maintenance.. also lack of staff training. Be careful, not to spend your day here. The woman in green shirt (not the receptionist serves us better. But it's not enough. Since she doesn't give quick action. Because of the lack of professionalism, me and my son got sick after we stay there. We don't get enough rest at all). The only compensation we get is only a piece of chocolate cake, for size about.. 4 cm x 10 cm x 6 cm. Very traumatic to stay there. Shame on the group that manages the Tjokro Style Hotel. Since they claimed they maintain the HR competence.

Verified reviewThe pillows are comfy. The bed is quite nice. There is a big mirror, and the open space for praying is enough. Plus, there is a sign of the direction of kiblat.
- There was a cockroach on the bed on the first night of my stay. - There was a small worm on the floor of the bathroom, since the water from the shower came out to the toilet area, and the water on the floor couldn't dry properly. - The room isn't soundproof, the 2nd day of my stay I could hear the group of students (came by bus) came to the room next door, and they were speaking a lot and loud, I woke up from my sleep cause of that. -The staffs of the hotel, I don't know why they had to run in the corridor in front of my room, and it happened so many times. - The slipper was only one pair, I had to ask the FO to send me one more for my husband. - The responses from the staff were sooooooo slow. - I ordered some foods from outside and asked the delivery man to leave it a while in the FO, and every time I asked the FO staff about my foods, their reactions weren't really friendly. Only the staff in the night shift gave us the smiles every time we met. - The TV channels are only local, and the quality isn't really clear. - The AC didn't work properly. It was stuck in 16°C and wasn't cold. Eventually, it's only fan -Because of the cockroach incident, I wasn't sure whether to drink or use the water inside the bottle that the hotel had prepared. I preferred to buy alone in the shops nearby - A lot of yellow stains in the bathroom Will not think to stay here again next time.
