How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe pool was big and nice, you can also order floating breakfast for an extra fee. The breakfast (included in the price of accommodation) was so far the best we had in Bali - you have a choice of 5 meals, you’ll also get fruit platter or fruit drink and coffee and tea and it was really tasty.
The villa we stayed at had 2 floors, in the second floor there was a living room and work space and it was all kind of dusty upstairs, especially the work space. We didn’t use the upstairs area so it didn’t bother us that much but somebody might want to use it. Also, in the small window at the separate toilet downstairs there is no net against the insects. Maybe that’s why I found there 2 large spiders in only 12 hours (and then I rather never returned there), which was very unpleasant for me as I fear spiders. I would even expect them in the outside bathroom but not inside the house - it might probably be prevented with the insect nets.

Verified review- excellent breakfast - very friendly and helpful staff - easy communication via chat - top starting point for visiting points of interest in this region (e.g. virgin beach, taman ujung) - really quiet location in the middle of rice fields and no big road with lots of traffic nearby

Verified reviewThe property was perfect for our group of 8 people. Each couple had their own space with a balcony and use of a well heated large swimming pool. The rooms were large and spacious with outdoor bathrooms. The staff were available to provide preordered food throughout the stay. The place was in an ideal location for our visit to the yayasan.
The staff were very slow with meal preparation and although we preordered for certain times it was very jam keret.

Verified reviewPlace looks like paradise. The rooms are spacious, confortable and super clean, and the common area is super neety, with the gardens perfectly mantained. The food, from the breakfast to the dinners we ate there were simply amazing. Everything was sooooo well prepared and cooked that i will miss the food of this place really! Also the staff is super friendly and helpful.

Verified reviewThe peacefulness of the location and pool. Central to a few good attractions in the area (water palace, virgin beach, warung chic)
Was a little tricky to find, but that’s half of the adventure, so didn’t bother us.

Verified reviewThe place is cute and nice. The garden is beautiful and taken care of. The room was clean and the bathroom as well. The light went off and I couldn't put it back up, I called them and they came to fix it in a good manner of time.
I think the staff was inattentive. I told them my time of arrival and they weren't there. I had to wait almost an hour to be given the room. The breakfast wasn't that great. No one cleaned my room during my stay. The access is terrible and there's no walls or anything, so being the only guest alone at night (the staff is not there most part of the time) felt really unsafe. I left a day sooner because of it.

Verified reviewAmazing little gem in the east of Bali. You're close enough to visit many attractions, beaches or go hiking. The breakfast and dinner were one of the best during our trip.

Verified reviewAbsolutely beautiful stay. The pool is probably the best we had at an accommodation, the bedrooms and villa itself are large, spacious, and comfortable. Absolutely kind and friendly host - and she is a wonderful chef also! We enjoyed a great dinner here - so good that we ordered more! Would definitely stay here again.
While the rest of the villa was very clean the kitchen area and fridge in particular could have been a bit better. However, this was a tiny thing and not really an inconvenience at all. We loved our stay here!

Verified reviewFantastic breakfast - nicest we had in Bali! Helpful staff, not too many people
Tricky to find; Google Maps has it wrong. Also really dangerous coming out in a car; a stone wall makes it impossible to see cars approaching from the West. Needs a mirror to assist. And a sign for arrival...

Maybe the location was a bit out of reach. But if you have a scooter or car it’s fine. The pool was a bit dirty

Verified reviewBreakfast was lovely, fruit, omlette and coffee prepared next to the table. The pool was a great way to start and end the day. We were looking for a base to explore the town of Amlapura and visit a couple of the bigger nearby attractions. The room (the one bedroom Cottage Lotus) was clean, tidy and calm. Aircon was good, outside shower was very nice. The staff were great, Ketut was a wonderful host. It's about a 30 minute walk into Amlapura, same to a black sand beach. We went there mostly to avoid tourism infrastructure, so it's a place to go if you just want to go for walks and escape.
Nothing could be better about the property and the location.

Verified reviewNice bungalow, completely private, nice breakfast, overall Good value for money
The road to the house is completely under water and therefore difficult to pass. Very private also means very quiet.
Thank you for visiting us and the review. We're sorry. During this rainy season we had a lot and very heavy rainfall for the last time. And the water system from the farmers used to irrigate the rice fields has overflowed. We'll fix it with the farmers. Thank you. Kind regards Ketut
