Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThat we couldn't stay longer - this time!
We travelled from the chaos of the airport out to the tranquility of this beautiful space - just wow! The staff were so welcoming and couldn't do more for us. They had booked yoga and a tour for us ahead of our arrival, and the whole stay (regrettably not a longer one) was smooth, relaxed, and wholly enjoyable. The traditional villa was exactly what we needed, and the open air shower was a wonderful experience- serene showering beneath the stars. The yoga space is scenic and airy, our instructor created a bespoke session for us - absolutely perfect. I highly recommend a stay here. Or pop down for delicious dinner, warm company or fantastic yoga.

CanadaIt’s fairly isolated. You need a car or motorbike to go any where. That’s not a problem if you’re looking for a relaxing country side stay.
Very quiet and peaceful Amongst the rice paddies. Great for walks in the country side. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

United KingdomThe air con was a little noisy and the light on it cannot be turned off. The shelves in the wardrobe were dusty. That's it - I can't think of anything else. It's a really nice place to stay if you want peace.
The room was pretty quiet and comfortable (I stayed in the bungalow in a separate compound), really spacious and away from most of the other accommodation (there are four rooms in the separate place). I loved the fact there is a yoga studio overlooking the rice fields, although I ended up not using it. The property is boundaried with rice fields that have paths for walking or running. The restaurant is reasonably priced and the breakfast was really good with unlimited coffee and tea. The staff were friendly and kept the room clean and refreshed. The location for me was good as it was away from the noise of the local area, but within easy access with a scooter of a swimming pool and gym.

AustraliaLittle bit dark in the room with lights on but who wants to sit inside on holiday?! 🌺🏞️🏖️ The mosquito net on the bed was not attached to the wall leaving a small gap for bugs to get in. However there really were very few mosquitoes. The complimentary insect repellent felt good on our skin - not sticky like Australian mosquito repellent.
The staff were fantastic and very helpful. Their service really made our stay - they booked us a driver, were always ready to give advice and answer questions, housekeeping service every day, organised us a laundry service. Restaurant staff made us feel at home, cooked for me even when they were closed! AND made me a Balinese dessert that I requested - not on the menu. Cheaper meals are still a good size. Food is hot, safe and tasty. Indonesian and western options. Rice terrace views, big bed, good air con, fridge, kettle with tea/coffee, towels, free drinking water, garden bathroom, complimentary soap, toothbrush, small sachet of insect repellent (jolgo villa) Cooking class, local trekking, Balinese massage ($20 AUD for 1hr), yoga studio, multiple swimming pools available. This place is basically in the rice terraces. There might be a lizard or mosquito visitor 😁. You have to drive a bit to get to attractions/Ubud centre. Temple Taman Ayu nearby.

IndonesiaHot water!!! Please improve! Room 202, after filling the bathtub for a few minutes , hot water doesn’t work anymore. And what’s worse, bathtub water stopper didn’t really work! Twice stayed in the same room, and it happened over and over! I had to re-fill the water again! But what to do, hot water didn’t come out anymore.. 😔😔😔😔😔😔
It’s second time I stayed here. I love its quietness and location! It’s 5 out of 5!

United KingdomWe stayed in the bungalows in the separate compound and the walls are extremely thin, meaning that you can hear your neighbours clearly. The mosquito net in our room also needs to be changed.
The staff really make this place, they were wonderful with me and my son, especially Putu. It was wonderful to stay in a true Balinese village with beautiful rice terraces to walk through and explore. I would highly recommend Umasari as a place to stay out of the tourist areas. Thank you for having us 😊

CanadaNot a thing. It was all amazing. The only one thing I could say, if possible try to keep the smokers in a different area from non and enforce the no smoking at the pool rule. And make the restaurant non smoking. I know everyone smokes here but it can be kind of a pain for those of us who don’t want to be sucking in your second hand smoke while we eat a lovely meal.
Everything! Cannot say enough about this gorgeous place! If you want some peace and serenity in the heart of Bali, surrounded by rice fields and nature - this is it. My Balinese cabana, the gorgeous property and view from my porch, the beautiful pools, the great food and lovely staff. The value for money here is exceptional. I came from crazy Ubud feeling frazzled and stressed and left a new and more happy, rested and relaxed person. :))

MalaysiaWe are Muslims. While front office said the food was halal, and though there was no pork on the a la carte menu, we were surprised to see pork on the breakfast buffet the next day. The closest local food stalls are a distance away on foot.
We stayed in the suite. It is very scenic and quintessentially Balinese. The staff were friendly and easy to communicate to. For the price, this was an amazing property and the food and additional services were affordable too.
