Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe family rooms have mezzanine which was intended as a bedroom but this space gets really hot. Although there is AC in the room, this is not well positioned to cool down the mezzanine. Similar to the other guests, I also realized the holes above the walls which leads to insects entering easily. Unfortunately Grab is not working in this part of the town and the hotel staff is abusing this by charging the guests outrageous prices (for Bali standards) for driving around. Be prepared.
We loved the pool, how it almost merges with the sea - although it was dirty. The complex is by the beach where you can do great snorkeling. The mosquito nets were clean (unlike some other guests' complaints). Overall good quality to price ratio. If you don't mind not being at the center of Amed, I recommend this location. There is a massive roadwork going on along the coastline and it seems like this roadwork will never end. Once it ends I guess this place will be more accessible. We enjoyed sitting at the restaurant and enjoying our drinks. Reviewing some of the comments and considering the relatively low price, I had low expectations therefore it definitely exceeded it.

Quiet, safe for children. Away from the bustle of Amed. Snorkelling off the shore was excellent and also easy to access boats for other snorkelling experiences. Staff always helpful for organising other activities.

AustraliaAs mentioned the upstairs was very hot but the provided a pedestal fan. There was no banister on the stairs which was very dangerous for the kids.
The pool and the snorkeling off the beach were amazing. The bungalows were simple but clean. Walking distance to great food. The staff were helpful when asked.

United Arab EmiratesNothing really! Like any property in Amed you just need to have your rented scooter or driver to get stuff you might need, for me as a solo traveler wasn’t an issue.

AustraliaBeautiful little resort right on the beach. Not good beach for swimming but infinity pool right at the water’s edge. Nice big room with a fridge and large terrace. Restaurant has great Indonesian food and standard breakfast options with eggs and pancakes. Staff were so nice and helpful, even assisted us when we had a scooter issue taking us to mechanic. Had to leave extra early on our departure date and provided us with breakfast (bread and jam) to take with us. Excellent hotel with a minimart a short walk away. Not ideal if you don’t have own transport but a nice quiet spot ideal for chilling

AustraliaThe weekend staff looked totally disinterested and spoke little or no English. The breakfast menu is printed but set out in a totally confusing way. The ½ Bali bathrooms are delightful until you see the large areas of green algae that are very old and not cleaned. Get a scrubbing brush. Clean the toilet please. Clean the glass in the bathroom door. SHUT the door to the outside bathroom when you turn on the air conditioner or you lose the cool air!
The pool, food, large rooms with delightful furnishings and beach were terrific.

CanadaAmazing location, outstanding snorkeling right out front saw a beautiful turtle feeding in the reef Great pool and quiet evenings, chill staff. Breakfast was the usual 3 choice deal, banana pancakes are an easy choice anywhere in Bali. Recommend a scooter to explore Amed as this is a little far to walk, but traffic is easy to navigate. Rooms are classic vintage Bali villa style, ac was good and beds comfortable. Had a small bar fridge. Shower wasn't great but good enough, I've learned to have low expectations for showers in the smaller areas of Bali. I would 💯 stay again.

AustraliaThe water pressure was not great. Their was no reception sign, so you had to guess where it was . When you initially arrive the property appears to be a little run down and the decor is Bali of old. The location and ocean view makes it very acceptable. There is no working safe in the room.
The ocean view room views are an absolute delight to wake up to and sit on the balcony and enjoy. Being able to walk out the front and be snorkelling with coral and tropical fish within 50 meters of the hotel was surreal ! Air conditioning was excellent . Breakfast was simple but very nice and the view , exceptional. Overall great value for money. Lots of restaurants of excellent quality in short walking distances, circle k within 5 minutes too. Great massage establishments too in walking distance . Would stay again.

AustraliaThe mosquitoes were pretty bad, but it’s the rainy season, so to be expected. There was spray available and mosquito coils. My room was clean and comfortable, with a fabulous view, but the bathroom is quite dingy. I don’t like an open bin for used toilet paper. It would be much nicer to have a bin with a lid.
Fabulous location on the beachfront with a dreamy infinity pool. Good snorkelling out front off the rocky beach. There is now a bamboo pontoon offshore which makes it so easy to just hang off it and watch the underwater delights. The staff have all been there for years, which is always a good sign. They are delightful and friendly. The food is delicious, especially anything with their homemade sambal Bali.

New ZealandIn the family room- while beautiful, we found the upstairs mezzanine got too hot to sleep up top despite the fan. Possibly the AC was a little underpowered to fully cool the size of the room- but not a huge problem. We figured a way round it, and were all comfortable. 😊
Incredible location, with the beach literally steps away- we loved the great snorkelling directly in front of the hotel! The staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely pool overlooking the sea, with beautiful trees and garden. Each room feels quite private, with a nice area to sit in front.

United KingdomDefinitely, the main area that needs improving is the staff. Maximum one person per shift speaks English. Difficult communication. Staff children were using the pool with clothes on after helping their parents around the hotel (sweeping the garden). A member of the staff charged me cash in hand a "corkage fee" for cutting tomatoes and cucumber brought in from outside the hotel. When I informed the manager about it, the "corkage fee" was returned. We used a massage service from a mobile therapist who came into the hotel. We paid her the agreed price, but later, she informed me that she was stopped by "some people" in the hotel when leaving, and they demanded nearly half of her payment. The manager was involved by me again. Apparently, not a staff member demanded the money. According to the manager, it was a massage mafia people (local people), but my questions were what these people are actually doing on the territory of the hotel and who allowed them in the hotel. I have never received any answers or explanations. The problem was solved. The money was returned . Received apologies for the inconvenience, but nevertheless, unpleasant feelings were left.
The infinity pool was amazing, as well as the garden and the bedrooms. Lovely layout and design. In reality, it looks much better than the photos.
