“For us this was a perfect spot - a genuine piece of Irish history and a warm Irish welcome as well! I should specify that we actually stayed up the road a bit at Mary’s sister’s place because Mary had family staying for a funeral and so she asked her sister to put us up for the night. I assume both places are similar. Geraldine and Trevor were very accommodating and kindly, even though we were sort of foisted on them due to the circumstances. The bed was comfy and the view of the estuary over the paddocks was beautiful. Geraldine had to go to work early but cooked a delicious breakfast for us beforehand, which was in the AGA staying warm. She returned at 10am and we had a cuppa with her and Trevor in their gorgeous old fashioned kitchen before taking off. It was a great experience all round.”
