Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThe location was absolutely incredible. The views and setting were so tranquil and beautiful. Access to the property and our room was so simple and straightforward. Recommendations from the owners for breakfast and dinner in a nearby restaurant really appreciated and was a bonus. We will definitely be back, only this time for longer than 1 night to truly appreciate the surroundings.

Netherlandshotel is hard to find, they didn't warn us that the shop and cafe are closed at 9pm. There is no air conditioning, drinking water, place to wash dishes, iron. Flies and spiders flew in and bit us all night. There were also a lot of insects on the terrace and our romance was ruined. This is for older people.
beautiful place

United StatesAll was great. I did make sure to pick up any food/snack supplies from Centa on R755 (15 min from property) on the way in. But close enough to make a trip as needed.
If you want peace and quiet or are looking to hike the area, this is the place. Liam and Zell were very accommodating and pleasant. My room had plenty of space and it was very comfortable. I was grateful they had an area where I could put together a convenient meal. I was able to put some things in the community fridge, use the microwave, etc., which was very helpful. The location was easy to find, and I thoroughly enjoyed walking the path located across the river to town. I was there 2 days, and my plan was to rest... this was the place for me.

GermanyNothing to complain!
Amazing location by the forest and river. The owners have prepared stepping stones to the other side of the river so we could just take a stroll to Glendalough, reaching there in just 15 minutes by foot. From there you can visit the oldest church village of Ireland, then go on hiking trail towards Lower Lake and Upper Lake. Also great for stargazing on clear night. The owner was very kind and friendly, making sure the fireplace was on while we were having dinner and chilling in the common space playing piano. The equipment of eating space was sufficient with microwave and toaster, they even had an air fryer (which we didn't try out). Just be aware that there is no cooking stove or oven (as stated in description). The bedroom was simple but cosy. Easy check-in with lockbox. I would love to come back here again!

IrelandThe over presence and supervision of the owners in the common space of the house, giving some impression of lack of intimacy (like living with the owners in their house rather than a private lodge).
The house is cozy and clean. The owners adapt pretty well the house and they share with the guests there own space. We'd had an stunning view of the Glendalough Mountain and we spend a great time in the common area playing some board games and playing the piano. We'll be coming back, absolutely!

Beautiful home in a picturesque setting! The home, including our room, was very clean and well kept. There was a lovely river in front of the home, which had rocks to use to cross the water and get to a trail that leads to the town. We enjoyed a very peaceful walk to town where we dined for lunch. Then we continued to walk around, including a wooden trail that lead to Glendalough Upper Lake. Many people were out enjoying the beautiful sunny day we had. We roamed the grounds for a little bit before we finally made our way back to the cottage. While at the home, we were able to enjoy a lovely fire the hosts made in the common area. If you are looking for true relaxation and tranquility, this is the place!
