Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

I would install softer lighting and more pictures to make it more homely.
"20 Minutes to the City Center" is fulfilling what once was a common offering in Ireland - namely providing clean, comfortable, basic, easy to find, friendly BUT affordable accommodation. There are no unnecessary frills provided - you get what was promised. Paul is also very helpful indeed. The cost of accommodation in Dublin is an International joke - most places are happy to gouge the market - a very short term approach and one that will come back to bite. Paul's in it for the long haul. I needed an overnight and a good night's sleep as my flight had arrived in late. Some of the places on offer on accommodation sites chance their arm and had horrible reviews. Paul's place by contrast had excellent ones and I was more than happy with my experience - I will be returning

Big & bright room and the place itself was clean and tidy. Quiet and a fantastic place to rest! A very short walk from a DART stop and the nearby pub the Horse and Hound was a good & friendly place to enjoy a pint.

It is super close to the dart station and in a very nice neighbourhood. There is free parking and Paul was extremely helpful with every request I had. Very close to both Malahide Castle and the city centre. Perfect for my trip to the Neil Young concert.

To be honest i was hesitant to book this property for the night. I don’t normally book houses but as soon as walked through the door i was glad i did. The house is very clean and airy. We were down stairs in the back room and it was very quiet. All the amenities of a house. Bathroom, kitchen, tea/coffee making facilities, back garden, comfortable beds and close to Dublin port. Only a 15-20 minutes drive. I would you recommend.

All was good, recommend
Location, so easy to get to the train station and in 20 minutes indeed in centrum. Very nice host, we get some recommendations, it was really nice to talk before getting key. Good accommodation, all was available, no issue with sharing bathroom. We could even get converter to EU facilities.

The property was conveniently located close to St Anne's Park where we were attending a concert. The host was very helpful with directions. The room and bathroom were clean. There was free parking at the property which was a bonus.

Cozy, quiet and perfect if you want to visit the city and stay 3 DART (metro) stops from city center. Paul is a great hostess and is whatsapp available whenever you need him. Thanks Paul!

I was there for two nights. Great place for visiting Dublin but escaping the city noise during the night. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The host was friendly, responded quickly to all questions and requests and made sure I had the perfect stay. The neighborhood is safe, clean and quiet and perfect for going for a walk or run before taking the Metro to the City Center which takes about 15 Minutes. Would recommend to anyone!

Having to go upstairs for bathroom, a bit difficult when you are older and need to get up at night.
We were on ground floor, great for luggage carrying. Use of kitchen. Paul was ready to answer any questions. Comfortable beds - only singles though, a double would have been preferred for a married couple. Could leave the car when travelling into the city by train. Close to train.

I had a perfect stay in Dublin for 5 nights. This guest house is not meant to spent all your day in the room, but to have a comfortable, neat stay at night with a refreshing shower and storing your belongings throughout the day. You can sleep in a quiet residential area and still be in the center of Dublin in no time with the tram stop just around the corner. There is a grocery store in the same street and a recommended pub is also close by. Paul is a warm-hearted host with years of experience. Even before my stay, he supported my journey with helpful recommandations for my trips in Dublin. It was probably not my last visit to Dublin and I already know where I will book next time! :)

Paul, the host, was friendly and helpful. Location suited us, easy drive from the airport, easy access to the M50 for day trips, easy and free parking. 20 mins from the centre of Dublin by train, less than five mins walk to the station. Pub and shops nearby. Clean and lockable room, and handy kitchen. Quiet location.

Since the city was cold, I felt like the heater didn’t heat up the rooms as much as I would have wanted. I had a large luggage and it was hard to lug across the gravel in front of the house.
The host was very kind and knowledgeable about the area! He gave many suggestions for things to do around the city. He was very welcoming into his clean home. I would stay there again if I came back.
