Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

it could be a bit more obvious when booking where in the property a room is ie ground floor, first floor, second floor. as a disabled person this matters

distance and travel was a bit much without a car. needs a table to put things on in the room, don´t like leaving things on the floor.

Lack of kitchen utensils - lovely new oven, but not enough cooking items and plates etc. Too many cameras. Lock on upstairs bathroom door broken. Lack of blind on upstairs window.

Finding the location was problematic. I have one BIG suggestion, and that is for the owner to post on Booking.com (and any other aggregator where they advertise this townhome) for a) guests to use the "Waze" app to find it and b) to post the address. Google Maps will not get a guest to the townhouse. GoogleMaps will cut off / end before you arrive and ask for a review 100 meters before you arrive. Waze is very popular in the U.S. and works in Ireland. Also, the location is 20-minute drive outside of Dublin City Centre with no traffic (40 minutes with traffic). Guests should be aware.
The staff person/property manager was very helpful during both stays (each for two nights). The townhouse is very clean, the bed and bedding were extremely comfortable, I felt very safe, and it was an excellent experience.

No mirrors at all.
Exceptionally clean and quiet and the head guy was the nicest ever. He helped us check in and walked us through the entire process.

It was very difficult to find the location. If I had my wife with me it would have been a problem. I rang the doorbell of one home before the owner was able to send me a WhatsApp link to more precise directions. Also, they require that shoes be removed before you walk into their townhome (this is fine, but it should be disclosed in the Booking.com information before the room is booked). Visitors to Ireland should be given information in the Booking.com website that lodging in Ireland typically does not have electrical outlets in bathrooms (so they can plan accordingly). The main negative is the complexity in finding the townhouse (glad this was a solo trip). Internet was slow and spotty, but they said that it will be upgraded on March 20th.
It was very clean and safe. The bed was great. The room was nice as was the bathroom and the kitchen to use to study, cook, make coffee, etc.

It was in the middle of a huge, modern housing estate and not easy to find. Bathroom was shared. Noisy with aircraft flying late at night & early morning. Worst problem was very noisy water pressure pump running constantly throughout the night making it impossible to sleep. Booked for 2 nights but left after 1 to find somewhere more pleasant for a quiet night and some sleep.
Rooms were clean but basic, cooking facilities were good. Host was very pleasant

The shower was over a bath which is fine but it was a hand held shower head. Pressure was good but awkward having to use a hand held. Would recommend a power shower been installed.
Location was very convenient for me, I was travelling to airport.

This place went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. The bed was very high quality and the sound insulation between rooms was impressive. I didn't even realize there was anyone staying in the room next to me. The full kitchen had everything I needed, I was able to cook a fancy meal for the woman I'm here to woo. Henry even found a table and chairs for outside so we could have a quiet meal together. I couldn't recommend this place more.

The pillows were too thin, The advertising on Booking.com did not accursately show the room - it showed other rooms. Towels were not supplied. It would be better described as a loft bedroom. No chair in the room. No table on top level for eating. Kitchenette , cramped and seems unfinished. Shower rose would not stay up.
the location is in a quiet street with some on site parking. Good selection of shower gels. The room was clean and well presented. The introduction to the house by the host was good.
