Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CroatiaWhen we arrived the apartment was dusty, the windows and curtains were dirty, the kitchen was messy and dirty, and if you stay longer you have to provide your own dishes. We only got two towels for the two of us, a small one and a large one. You don't get shower gel, only shampoo and conditioner in a small bottle. We stayed in block E and the elevator there was terrifyingly noisy. The walls are thin so you can hear everything, we were there for 15 days and there were both quiet and loud mornings and nights. Washing and drying clothes is quite expensive and it's a lottery to come when no one is there. A big complaint about customer support who responded two days after we sent a message that a drug addict's needle was found in the elevator in block E, which contributed to the insecurity in.
We liked the location of the property the most, 20 minutes walk to Temple Bar and about 7 minutes by bus. Guinness factory 10 minutes walk, several pubs nearby, restaurants, Lidl 5 minutes walk.

United StatesThe bathroom lights and fan are on timers only that turn on when you open the bathroom door, and turn off after 15 minutes. This means that if you use the bathroom at night, the fan turns on and stays on for 15 minutes. This became a bit disruptive and inconvenient.
Great location that is very close to the Guinness Brewery and walking distance to the tourist areas of Dublin. Felt very safe in the neighborhood, but relatively quiet.

GermanyOur first night there was a fire alarm at 5.30am. All doors are fire doors and slam very loudly, plus you can hear voices and footsteps etc. If you're a light sleeper, I highly recommend earplugs.
Good value if you just need a place to crash for the nights. Friendly, helpful staff.

United KingdomA slight delay at check in as apparently the wrong key was in the allocated envelope. No towels in the room - had to go back down to reception to ask. I also reported a broken swivel desk chair and damage to the wall-fitted heater. The shared kitchen area had a mixed amount of crockery and cutlery but it was not in the cupboards, always in the draining board area. No tea towels provided. A new box of plates were just left in the box at the end of the worktop. A roll of stickers would have been useful for labelling personal food and a labelled area for guests to leave non-perishable foodstuffs for use by other guests, as is the system in backpackers we have used. The common room bin was left full about 24 hours.
We were able to leave bags prior to our 4pm check in. Although the room is small it was adequate as is the shower room and toilet but it was clean and we never had a problem with water temperature.

GermanyThe communal bathroom in the check-in area was absolutely disgusting and it felt like it didn’t get cleaned in 3 days. Check in/out times were also a little odd. Checkout at 10:00 and check in at 4:00. And absolutely no flexibility.
The staff were helpful and friendly!

LithuaniaThe area was just a bit dull and the view from the room too. For the price it is ok, but for example the park nearby always reeked of some ungodly smell.
Staff was very kind. We found it enough for two people. We really enjoyed being able to use the kitchen which was well equipped. Bonus - the complimentary shampoo and conditioner were excellent.

GermanyThe bathroom unfortunately wasn't very clean.
The room was bigger than expected, check in at 16 o'clock worked without problems, the staff was very nice. In and to our room everything was barrier-free. Towels are included but were not in the room, had to get them extra from downstairs but without any problems.

AustraliaThe mattress on the bed was past it's use by interns of comfort.
No breakfast included but there was kitchen to cook etc. it was a flat 20-30min walk into the main part of the city which was fine, but after a long day of sightseeing it made the day very long. I think there was a bus close by but I didn't use it. I loved that coffee and tea making was available first thing in the morning

Costa RicaNeeds a bathroom garbage bin, mattress is way too soft and you can feel the springs which is not good for the back, there is practically no pans or cutlery to cook, only one pot, two forks and two knives , that really really needs to be improved, it brings so much more value to the experience and it costs you nothing compared to the benefits for the customer. The halls are steaming hot I don't know why they keep it this way in summer.
