How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

A summer duvet would be better, not a fan of brushed cotton sheets.

It was a great place to stay for someone on their own or a couple. All the facilities were available and extremely comfortable. Also a reserved parking space outside the accommodation. I would definitely stay again if in Mullaghmore.

We had a lovely stay here at Ard Na Mara. The property was very clean and well maintained. It was a very cosy and relaxing environment. The bed was very comfy and it was really nice to have a garden too. We loved staying here and would really recommend it.

It was a really nice place to stay. It was private and quiet with a place to park the car. It was furnished really nicely and the host left some bread, milk and eggs for us which was a really nice treat. There was a sea view out the back. Nice location and not far from the beach. Really enjoyed our stay here.

Beautiful location but no amenities in the village in November, obviously not a fault of the host or property.

It is very minor and personal things but it would be nice to have a coffee maker or cafetière.
This is a nice place to stay. The house was very spacious for two of us, clean, modern and comfortable. We were happy to find some eggs, bread, milk etc for us upon checking in. There were plenty of amenities in the bathroom and the shower worked great. The location was great. It is in quiet area and you can walk to beautiful beaches and the best sunset spots in Mullaghmore. There were some places to eat in walking distance and a supermarket was within 10 minutes drive. You can drive easily to many hikes and sights to explore. We didn't meet the owner but she gave me a clear instruction for check in and she responded quickly for our inquiry. We really enjoyed our stay.

*Lighting in the main kitchen/living area was a little dim on dark days. *A second close rack in the bedroom would be very useful.
Excellent apartment. Home from home. Very well stocked with everything one might need. Owner nearby & very helpful. Bread, milk, butter, eggs, jam, marmalade, toiletries etc left for us on arrival. Very kind & generous. Most impressive. Walking distance from the beach, hotel & pier.

It’s a very very very small thing but we didn’t have any surface cleaning clothes or dish cleaning sponges.
