Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThat I had to leave. Suggestion: Maybe provide a larger coffee press for two people.
We liked everything! Visible signs as we approached the property made it quite easy to find the cottage in the very rural setting. Owner explained everything we needed to know to use the facilities. He made himself available for support throughout the entire stay. The cottage is in outstanding condition and in a location for a wonderful, quiet get-away!

IrelandThe location is very quiet farmland with views of the sea. Tremone beach is nearby for a quick morning dip and stroll. Culdaff beach with all facilites in very near also. And the house is s good base for Inishowen drives and mountain walks. Carndonagh provides all possible groceries but there's a nearby shop in Culdaff recommended by the owner. Jason and his dad who runs the farm were very friendly and helpful. Jason even returned by post an item I had left behind,

IrelandNothing everything was perfect 😀
Absolutely fabulous. Jason has done an amazing job renovating this cottage. The attention to detail is second to none and absolutely spotless. The sea view is spectacular and you can even see the scottish highlands on a clear day. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need if you wanted to cook in,there’s even a slow cooker & an air fryer. My 3 boys had great fun playing football in the back garden and also loved meeting the farm dog Jack who was absolutely gorgeous! The wifi was very good and the kids were able to play their computer games when they weren’t outside playing football. The location is very good approx 5 mins drive to the local village of Culdaff. It’s a great base to explore the area with Malin Head approx 25 min drive away. There’s a local taxi also if needed. Jason is a fantastic host and went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay and everything we needed. His dad was also lovely and ready to help if we needed anything. I would highly recommend staying in Atlantic Bay Cottage. I will definitely be returning next year and possibly before it if I get a chance!!

GermanyCooking equipment was a bit basic because most visitors seem to eat out, but the owner, who was brillant, immediately helped out.
Beautifully restored traditional cottage with all mod cons. Lovely view of the Atlantic Ocean across a few meadows. Secluded and quiet location, not isolated thought, neighbours adjacent. Car is essential , spectacular beaches close by. Good sized town for shopping about 14 km away. Next village shop and pub about 3 km. Note that heating and electricity work with meters, initial amount of money is supplied, have coins available thereafter. Good shower facilities. Adirondack chairs and picknick table for outside seating. Good utiility room.

United KingdomWe felt that we had to be careful over use of the heating as this was on a meter, we had limited 2 euro coins, and had to keep adjusting the mechanical settings according to temperature. It was very helpful to have credit on arrival and the for the electricity meter this was more than adequate. However, because the weather was cold being mid-winter we needed to have the heating on in the morning and evening. It was lovely to be able to supplement the heating on one night with the coal burner. We have rented many holiday cottages and this is the first time energy was charged on a meter. Otherwise this is an excellent property and in warmer weather this would not be a concern.
Freshly decorated, modern yet homely. Quiet, isolated location which we liked!

Austrianothing - it was great.
It was really comfortable, felt like home and everything was thought of, very cosy being able to light a fire in the kitchen and in the living room having the electric fire. The location was lovely for long walks with the sea is in front of you and sheep are grazing behind the cottage. Our host Jason also went above and beyond, we got a bit lost finding the place and he stayed up very late for our arrival to show us around. He also offered to meet us in the nearest town if we get lost. Thank you so much for an unforgettable stay :)
