How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Bad location for trying to sleep. It was so loud. People were outside our windows yelling all night.

Being able to hear the announcements from the nearby bus station in the morning, maybe request a room at other side. Also residents bar closed at 11, meaning we had to go to the bar next door and order drinks to take into the hotel

bathroom had a little bit of oder, walls of the room were thin so we could hear the guests from the next room

The door of the room does not isolate from the noise on the corridor.
Location is great, near Aras Bus Station. Friendly staff, very good and divers breakfast. The room was very clean, not to big but good for one night.

We found the room was very basic. There was no AC, it was very warm and we could not open the window. There was no cupboard / wardrobe or drawers to put our clothes, only a few hangers. For a 5 night stay, it was not ideal. The room rates were very high for such a basic room. Double the price from usual, as there were lots of events in the city (Bruce Springsteen, Bryan Adams, Girls aloud, Europe football final )
The location is great. It is quiet area, there is no party crowd around. It is walking distance to O'connel st, Temple Bar and attractions, very close to bus and train stations to quickly go out of town and get to the sea side. The staff is amazing, very friendly, welcoming and helpful, always in a good mood. We stayed in a twin room. The beds were comfortable, the room size was good and it was super clean.

Breakfast was really disappointing. Plates (despite a sign saying “hot plates”) were stone cold, as was most of the food.

Staff were very unfriendly.Couldnt understand what we were saying.Very bad english if any.Which is very unfair when trying to communicate..it would not work in any other country.. Vert of putting the way they spoke to us.no manners.

Arrived at 1.30pm no food available until 3pm....disappointing....went to another location to eat where as if Bar had been open we would have had lunch there, No snacks like Taytos/Peanuts in the bar or around the hotel to purchase, no bottled water avb on our floor,

Didn’t like that there was no residents bar. No facility together even a bottle of water after 11pm

The area of Dublin is loud and busy all night long. People were yelling, singing, and being arrested/ambulance called until 4am. Not great for sleep!
The hotel and staff were wonderful. We stored our luggage safely the day we arrived before check in and the day we left so we could explore Dublin. The restaurant was great and the people were lovely!

The only downside was it is a bit loud, as it is right downtown, close to the train station. But this is the trade-off for the great location.
The location is very good. Just a short walk from the train station. It was also very close to where we got the bus to the airport the next morning. Also close to public transportation, which we used to visit some attractions in Dublin. The lobby is very nice and the staff were excellent. Ryan's pub is right beside the hotel and a great place for food or a drink.

Unfortunately I had requested dairy free alternatives for breakfast eg alternative butter/flora substitute and was told can be accommodated but that morning was told no alternative available
So easy to locate, just off red line. Very friendly and great idea of the town map at reception with great advice from reception desk
