Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesAs with every place we visit in IRL/UK, the beds are a bit small. We only wish the house had wifi, traveling from America helps that with the data plans. Other than that it was very nice!
There is plenty of space here. It is also really nice that it has two full bathrooms and a functioning kitchen. Other than that is was very nice~!

IrelandThe only downside was that there was only one parking space available. The parking on the street is very expensive and capped at a maximum of 2 hours. It would have been good to know this beforehand
The stay was excellent, and the house was lovely, in a great location. The house manager was very kind and let us check in early.

United StatesMy only complaint, which I can barely call a complaint, is that there wasn't a lot of back up supplies. Our group of four ran out of toilet paper by the end of our stay.
The location was amazing. The town was quaint and the townspeople were all so friendly. There's a beautiful park adjacent to the property, and a wonderful coffee and breakfast shop just steps away.

FranceEven tought we did not miss the lack of Wifi the place could do with a TV especially, at this time of the year (celebrations, end of the year reviews, sporting matches).
Very cosy & comfortable place with great location (Dublin within 30-40 mins by bus). Swift & easy process for the keys. Bed & bath linen very fresh.

Love the fact that it is a piece of Celbridge history! The place has a cosy cottage feel to it and is much bigger than I thought.

United KingdomThe heating was on all the time so the property was very warm, that didn't suit everyone. The shower control wasn't functioning properly so the water was scalding hot and dangerously so. There was no Wi-Fi, which may have been noted on the details but if so we missed it. The third bedroom was off the second bedroom, so you had to walk through bedroom 2 to get to the bathroom/rest of the house.
The location of the property was great, just at the end of the main street and at the end of the drive to Castletown House. So lovely walks and access to restaurants on the doorstep. The property had a lovely feel and was comfortable.

United Stateswould’ve preferred a place with less noise from road traffic.
it’s an interesting property with an interesting history. And it’s very close to a wonderful walking park along with a mansion that you can tour. Local towns people nice.

United KingdomWhat a gem of a place to find. Lorraine, the host was friendly and knowledgeable, and the locals were friendly. Even to the point of explaining camogie to ignorant English. It maybe ladies playing hurling but if you have never seen it before it's well worth a look. Dublin is about a hour away, but with the local bus service outside your door, with one about every twenty minutes there's no hassle. Good luck on acquiring other properties like this.and allowing Joe public the opportunity to have some kind of experience of how people used to live.... If we ever travel back to Dublin would book in an instant....
