Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandWe had the pleasure of staying with Louise and Jimmy for three nights. We felt like part of the family within seconds of our arrival. The rooms, the garden, and the breakfast were all perfect—literally. The whole family, along with their animals, were the loveliest and most welcoming hosts. For the rest of our holiday, we kept catching ourselves saying, “Well, it isn’t Louise’s.”

We loved the friendliness. We were made to feel right at home. The country setting w a horse, chickens, ducks, and a super cute baby fawn were all a wonderful bonus. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and our view of their garden was beautiful. Breakfast was also very good and our hosts were happy to help w dinner suggestions or travel recommendations.

DenmarkOur lovely hosts we're secont to none, not only providing excellent food (breakfast and dinner), but really making us feel welcome and at home at the Cherrygarth Cottage - always with a smile and a fresh remark, and loads of great advice on walks/hikes, local restaurants and understanding 'the Irish way'. The Cherrygarth itself so cozy and embracing, a flourishing garden, friendly dogs, hens and horse. Our recommendations can not be higher. If you seek an authentic experience of Ireland at its best, you must go visit Cherrygarth Cottage.

United StatesNothing. It was a perfect stay.
The house is located in a beautiful part of the Wicklow region, with easy access to the mountains and the coast. The gardens are magnificent. Louise and Jim are excellent hosts, sharing their expensive knowledge of the region. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and sustained us all day! Delicious breads and scones. If you get a chance to stay here, do it! Our room was beautifully appointed, and we enjoyed access to the upstairs patio.

NetherlandsThe bed was a bit too soft for us, however this is a personal preference.
We were very well received by Louise and Jimmy. They were fantastic hosts, kind and always available, and gave us lots of (great) suggestions for sightseeing, hiking and eating in the region. The cottage really feels like a home, the grounds are lovely, and we even got to meet some of the younger family members. Louise's breakfasts were an absolute topper! All in all, a great place to relax and as a base for getting to know Wicklow.

United KingdomHad an amazing stay here. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming and looked after us perfectly. Room had everything we needed, decorated nicely, clean, comfortable bed, view of the garden with the roaming chickens and ducks and ofcourse the mountain in the distance. Breakfast was amazing. There are walks straight from the house which was great and only a short drive to nearby pubs. Would highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere with a personal touch close to beautiful scenery.

Breakfasts are just great, homemade and very tasty with good variety. Louise is a very good cook! It has an ideal location nestled between picturesque lakes and breathtaking landscapes are a short drive away. Easy access to restaurants, shops and tourist attractions. We were welcomed by the gracious couple and are really grateful for all their hospitality! Looking forward to be back again !

IrelandI honestly cannot find a negative or say there was anything we didn’t like.
The property itself and attention to detail is exceptional but at the end of the day it’s the service you receive and the experience you have that makes it stand out and boy does Cherrygarth Cottage stand out . It’s simply an experience not to be missed out on . Cannot speak highly enough about this place

United StatesLeaving this place!
Where do I begin? When you enter the gate, you are transported into a magical place. The grounds are full of beautiful flowers with chickens, ducks, peacocks, dogs, and a horse roaming free. For breakfast, enjoy fresh eggs with Louise's home made bread, scones, and jam. Next, take off on a hike right outside the property or drive a short distance to cute villages or the beach. In all, this is an absolute jewel in the Wicklow mountains!

Louise and Jimmy were exceptional hosts, made sure we were looked after, and made us feel at home from the moment we stepped inside. I had the best night of sleep that entire holiday at their home, and the breakfast they made us the next morning was absolutely delicious - I'm still thinking about it now! The rooms are clean and comfortable and very bright and airy. Breakfast was delicious and Louise’s homemade baked goods are fantastic. The location is quiet and relaxing and the gardens are just beautiful. We walked the sugar loaf mountain near by and went for tea in Greystones which is only a 20min drive away. Everything. We rode in on our motorbike and we got an absolutely lovely welcome. Our hosts made us feel at home as soon as we arrived , even giving us a nice cold beer straight away. What a lovely couple and what a lovely home they have, we can’t thank them enough. In the morning we went down for breakfast and it was all home made, bread and scones just out of the oven and the home made jam was absolutely delicious. Full Irish breakfast that even I couldn’t finish. What a way to start your day! Must thank louise and jimmy for making our last night of our holiday a lovely one.
