Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaNot unepected, but the room is small - barely room for our luggage. Too far from town to walk, but an easy drive.
Room was clean and quiet with ensuite, new bathroom. Anna is a wonderful hostess, full of great information, and cooked lovely breakfasts. It was surprisingly quiet considering it's on a main street. Lovely view of the Galway Bay. Loved walking along the Salthill Promenade.

United States of AmericaThe only thing that would have made our stay better would have been staying there longer. Anna likes her guests and does her best to make them happy. She's like everyone's favorite aunt!
We loved everything about our stay at the Claremount House B&B. We arrived before the specified check-in time, but Anna greeted us with open arms along with Kit Kat bars, tea, and coffee. She explained that she was Hoovering our room, but we were welcome to wait in the living room. Anna asked about our vacation and our lives while she was preparing our snack. While she finished preparing the room, we filled out an information form and selected the time we wanted to eat as well as what we wanted for breakfast from a long list of choices that ranged from a full Irish breakfast to beans and toast. The room was a nice size with a chair, a wardrobe with drawers, two bedside tables, and a luggage holder. The bed had 6 feather pillows, a feather duvet, and the whitest, fluffiest towels and wash cloths that we saw in Ireland. The linens were line dried and ironed! In addition to what we ordered, breakfast included a choice of cereals. juices, fruits, homemade scones and brown bread, as well as croissants. Everything was delicious and presented in a lovely way in a room with a view of the ocean. Anna was warm and friendly from the moment we walked into her home. It felt like coming home; she was interested in us as people, not just as paying guests. We look forward to staying with her again.

United States of AmericaLoved everything about the property. Nothing to dislike.
Very tidy and charming. Excellent location with stunning views of Galway Bay. Easy access to the Prominade bay walk which begins close to the property and continues into Galway City for an invigorating two mile walk. Bus stop is nearby and taxis are readily accessible. Anna, our hostess, was outstanding and made us feel like family. Her breakfasts were delicious and the tables by a large bay view window were ideal.

United States of AmericaThe Wi-Fi in our room didn’t work when we arrived. Btw, the password is awful. I suggest you change the Wi-Fi to something more intuitive like the password for the downstairs.

The owner is very kind and she takes good care of every single little detail. The breakfast was outstanding. The best we had in Ireland. She offers a great variety of fresh fruit, home made bread, croissants, scones, not to mention the selection of savory and sweet options she prepares for guests. Thank you for a very pleasant stay.

The hostess, Anna was amazingly gracious and attentive. She offered us espresso and cookies immediately on arrival and we had wonderful conversation. The beds were extremely comfortable and the entire house was spotless! Anna cooked a full breakfast which was delicious and more than enough to fuel us well beyond the lunch hour. The house was directly across from the Galway Bay promenade for an invigorating walk into Galway. The Claremont B&B is a no-brainer choice if you’re looking for an amazing stay in Galway.

United States of AmericaIt was a little expensive for the facility, but we understand that there is a shortage of places to stay in Galway and the price may have been justified.
Anna was very helpful with hints on how to navigate the city. Breakfast was very good. The facility was quiet and very clean. It was close enough to the city to take the bus or walk to some of the sights.
