Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere is no parking. Rates are €14 overnight 7pm - 8am. And 24 hr parking €46. There was no offer for validation to use public parking garages to get cheaper rate. The property was above a bar and restaurant. The noise was not too bad, and did cease around 12am. This was only a slight inconvenience. The steps are narrow to carry luggage.
The property was close to attractions and shopping in central Dublin. We did receive room cleaning service during our 2 night stay.

GreeceWell, this is for all the accommodation of this type. You pay so much money and you don't get a welcome from the owner, none even a typical phonecall to check if everything is ok. Next time to a classic hotel, even the typical welcome of the reception is proffered.
The location was good. The room was nicely decorated. Room service every day, coffee, tea always availlable

United StatesThere were only a couple of things that would have made the stay a perfect 10. The first thing was the smell when we walked in. It was obvious that a previous tenant had been smoking, so the room had a strong smell. We opened the window to air out the room and it got better, so we got used to it while we were in the room and didn’t notice it as much. But - every time we walked in from being gone, it started all over again. The room has just absorbed the smell. We were noticing today as we traveled elsewhere that our clothes and bags now have that smell. So - you guys may need to do some sort of treatment of the linens and a deep cleaning to rid the room of the smell. The other thing that is not a big deal, but just a little strange to us was the shower door that didn’t cover the whole length of the shower. It was difficult to shower without getting water on the floor. The last thing (which is not your fault, but something you need to communicate to whoever delivers the kegs for the bar) - when we came down the stairs to catch our taxi this morning, both doors were completely blocked by 15-20 kegs pushed all of the way to the doors and several deep. We could not open them more than about 6 inches. My husband is thankfully a big man and was able to finally push hard enough to allow a small opening in the middle of the doors for us to squeeze through with our bags. Not only was this very inconvenient as it took a few extra minutes to get out, but it could be VERY dangerous if there was any kind of emergency. They need to know that those doors are entrance/exit doors, not just a random wall.
We loved the location and the room setup, amenities, comfortable bed, communication, etc. We would definitely stay here again on another trip to Dublin.

United KingdomThe handle on the door was broken! Nightmare! The tv didn’t work for ages about forty mins to find a signal. The water in the fridge had been opened already! Not nice when you have new guests in there.
The bed is really comfy!! Lots of brew making things but no milk? Really good location!

United KingdomSome aspects of the room might be a little tired….but I’m being picky and the room/bathroom was clean and very comfortable. A little bit of noise on the Friday night (from the bar below) but it was expected and was very quiet after normal pub closing. I think the only access to rooms was via stairs (not an issue for us but be aware)
We booked a couple of King rooms for a weekend in Dublin. Clear instructions and easy to access the room and great to have the bar downstairs to end the evening in. Lovely to be able to leave the bags at the bar too. Clean and comfortable and very central. We pretty much walked everywhere… 2 mins from Grafton Street and great selection of pubs and restaurants within minutes. Staff very friendly too.

United Arab EmiratesPoor communication. We were told we would receive an access code 24 hours in advance but didn’t receive anything. When I contacted, I was told we would receive the code that day instead, but still didn’t. We had to get an emergency code off the pub downstairs to be able to stay in the accommodation we paid for! I finally received the code yesterday, two weeks after our stay!! We landed at 7am in the city and the building had no access as there is no reception and the pub downstairs was closed until 12, so there was no option to drop our heavy bags at the property until 3pm which was highly inconvenient and meant we had to book another property. Accommodation smelled slightly damp.
Clean and modern. Netflix on the TV a plus! Fantastic location.

IrelandAccess - codes don't always work. It's not safe as a lone woman to stand outside in the street trying to put the code in when it's dark. One time another resident opened the door for me. No lifts. So if you have mobility issues or heavy luggage it's a no.
Location is central, room has everything you need, view is lovely. Young lady at Bar Rua was especially kind and helpful.

United KingdomThe door was a bit fiddly but the lovely bar attendant in Bar Rua showed us how to get it working first time. There is a nack... its a very old lock and you have to punch the numbers in slowly so as not to confuse the old thing and it works no problem if done slowly.
Perfect location right in the middle of everything. Bar Rua downstairs was lovely, the staff so welcoming and we had the best steak I've ever tasted.

Great location in the lively centre of Dublin south of the river, walking distance to bars restaurants and attractions. Self check-in only (no humans on site), but it went smoothly. Comfortable room with microwave, minifridge, kettle and coffee machine. Clean bathroom with nice shower and toiletries supplied.
