Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe shower in the downstairs bathroom was temperamental.
Cozy, homely, warm and spacious Irish cottage, equipped with everything we needed to explore the Wicklow area. Loved the traditional features including the hobbit sized doors.

United KingdomThe shower is a bit small and dark for my liking so I used the bath instead. Other adults had no issue with it, just me and my phobia. 😅
A unique accommodation filled with lots of history and antiques. A lot of work and love have been put into this cozy home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is well equipped. There is a washing machine and dryer in a shed just outside. Everything was in good working order. At the back there is a beautiful pond where our kids found joy paddling in the small floating canoe. We love the sounds of the waterfalls and streams. The fresh mountain air is very inviting. Well located, not too far from Laragh town, restaurants, convenience stores, Wicklow town and the scenic drive through the mountains and views of the waterfalls. Hopefully we will be able to come back here soon. :)

United StatesThis is a charming cottage with much greater potential, but there is one unfixable negative thing. Everyone in our party is over six feet tall, and each of us kept hitting our heads on the very low doorways. While we understand this house is very old, this was a negative factor fo us, and unfortunately, not every house is right for every guest. We all had to uncomfortably walk hunched over most of the time :( The kitchen and breakfast nook seemed too cluttered with a lot of dusty items — it would be nicer and provide a more restful and relaxing atmosphere with fewer items and less bric-a-brac. Lastly, there was some construction going on in the backyard with wood, junk, and materials left lying around. It will be a nice area when it’s completed but it’s not something one likes to see while on vacation.
The location was amazing with lots to explore. The house was charming — we liked the fireplace/tv sitting room, very cosy! The owners were very responsive to our needs. When we arrived to find there was no coffeemaker, they purchased a new one for us right away!

IrelandAs soon as we arrived through the main gates we were amazed by every little detail that the owners have put into it.. Was by far the coolest place any of us have ever stepped foot in.. Beautiful scenery all around us, peaceful, cozy and just great vibes.. the inside of the house is jam packed with history and character. Will definitely be back again!! It's also central to all the most popular hikes that Wicklow has to offer and would 100% recommend this place.

United KingdomWe had one 6ft 3ins person who had to remember to duck through all the doorways!
The cottage is very close to Glenda Lough in the beautiful Wicklow mountains. It is a cross between a beautiful stone converted barn/cottage, a hunting lodge and a Tardis as it's so much more spacious inside than it first appears. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well eqipped. The patio and gardens are great outdoor spaces and the parking space was very generous.

United StatesIt wasn't a problem for me, but the 2 tall men in our party kept hitting their head on the low doorways in the hall. We had to put a chair in the way to make them remember to duck. We also had a problem with the shower upstairs, but the hosts came out and fixed it very quickly.
Nice quiet location. Looks like it was an old hunting lodge. The cats were an added bonus.
