We arrived much later than expected and they kindly called to check our ETA at 10am, which was appreciated. There was no issue arriving late.

We were only there to sleep for a few hours but to arrive at 11pm to see black long hairs on the bathroom floor and to see cobwebs on the corner of the bath near the floor was not so nice. It was clean otherwise though. Beds were hard and pillows were uncomfortably flimsy feeling. A gate was left open somewhere outside and it was banging in the wind into the early hours of the morning. Not sure that was within the power of the staff to sort out though to be fair as it could have been a neighbouring property - not sure. We had limited time for breakfast at 7am given our ferry was at 8:15 but in any case it was really less than expected. At the reception the night before I was told I could expect a continental breakfast. What this amounted to was barely passable not very fresh cheap brand "cornflakes", and bread/toast. No croissants/pastries or anything we could grab and run to our morning ferry with. Truly horrible coffee and I had to ask for takeaway cups. It seemed very odd that they were so ill prepared for passengers taking the 8am ferry. We were greeted absently by an impatient, hassled looking server who subsequently asked me to write down my credit card details for unclear reasons. I politely declined, given that I had booked with my credit card details already on booking.com and I didn't feel comfortable handing over my credit card details on a scrap of paper like that. So I suggested they call me to sort out any missing information. This was accepted without any issue. Maybe it something to do with reservations, but I had booked with booking.com so they should have had my details or taken them when I checked in the night before at the front desk. It just seemed odd. She was not unpleasant but just not very friendly. To be fair she was only passing on the message from reservations, and she didn't insist. I didn't want to be awkward but Ijust didn't feel comfortable.

Great location. Breakfast was ok. The hotel has a grubby feel to it. The carpets are a disgrace. I couldn't have a shower as the scum on the tiles made me feel sick..

    As above ..

The staff are very nice and the breakfast is decent. Location is very good. Clean bed linen.

Bedroom was very run down and grubby, stain on the carpet, chipped paint on all the furniture. Very dark and dull rooms, the bathroom was also grubby, the shower door barley covered in limescale. It is just a very disappointing room.

    The location is great.

My mother and I stayed here for one night on August 23rd, paying €220 including breakfast. I had read the poor reviews but thought, “Surely it can’t be that bad?” Unfortunately, it really was. Where to begin? This hotel is a complete letdown. Everything feels dated and lifeless, with an overwhelming amount of grey paint, even the lobby bathroom tiles were painted over, now scratched with graffiti and looking downright grubby. The whole property needs a deep clean: windowsills covered in dust and cobwebs, surfaces tired and dull, and an atmosphere that feels utterly drained. The staff seem unhappy, though to their credit they are doing their best. The lift groaned like it hadn’t been serviced in decades, and the room numbers were literally just peeling stickers on doors. In our bathroom, the tap had almost no water pressure and there was no counter space for toiletries. My bed had a single, thin pillow, which is hardly what you’d expect for this price. Dinner in the bar on Saturday night (our group of four at 8 p.m.) was another ordeal. Despite the place being quiet, it took 20 minutes just to get someone’s attention to take our order. No one offered drinks or water, so we had to flag down a second waitress. Drinks were delayed, food took nearly 90 minutes, and other tables were served before us even though we ordered first. The waitress seemed new and unsure, which I sympathize with, but there were five or six staff wandering around without helping her. When the food finally arrived, my fish and chips were edible but undercooked in places. No one checked on our table during the entire meal. The one bright spot was the live music afterward — genuinely excellent, with a great atmosphere in the bar. Breakfast the next morning was average at best: no granola, minimal yogurt options, though the pastries were nice and fruit was fresh. At checkout, the receptionist didn’t ask how our stay was, probably because he’s tired of hearing the same complaints.

    Location was good

Extremely overpriced for the condition of the hotel and the level of service. We really and truly were taken back by how run down the common areas were. The service in the bar was terrible, forgotten drinks, 40 mins wait for the food and no one came near us until we flagged someone down for the bill.

Provided with an early continental breakfast to enable us to catch early ferry.

Whole hotel needs refurbishment. Frayed carpets and chipped paintwork. Mould around bath.

Staff were very helpful, location, was excellent and food was good and our room was large.

At breakfast time we were not impressed with the dispenser at the bar for tea. The table in our room could have done with a dab of paint.

The room was in poor repair, carpet filthy , smell in toilet , tiles in toilet broken .The bed was lumpy from springs (very old ) and terribly uncomfortable . In general very poor value for money . Close by a ferry port and no cooked breakfast until 7.30am with ferries leaving at 8.15am and no option to book room only … guy in the morning was extremely helpful . Alarm for fire went off in the middle of the night and woke us and we couldn’t get back to sleep … never stay there again .
