How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Breakfast was amazing couldn’t believe it was included. Staff were so friendly + very nice room. It is over a pub with was very handy and we brought ear buds that were perfect when going to sleep

We were in room 10 on the second floor.It was very warm as only a velux window .Bed wasn't that comfortable but that's probably a personal opinion.
Great location,excellent value for money and lovely staff.

The only thing was that the pub next door had live music and there were loud patrons outside but that's out of the control of Davitts Guesthouse. Just bring ear plugs.
Our room was at the front overlooking the street. It's a spacious room and I like that you can open the windows for fresh air. The bathroom also has a window that can be opened and is clean with room to put your toiletries. The beds were comfortable and our breakfast was fabulous. I had the roasted squash with feta and baby spinach on poached eggs. It was delicious and set me up for the day.

Nothing, i really enjoyed my stay...the only complaint I'd have was the weather and they can't control that!!! I was just unlucky as unfortunately it was overcast and wet...but still great!
Excellent standard, this guest house is ideally located in the centre of Kenmare, there's ample free carparks within a short walking distance, the rooms are clean and comfy, and mine had a nice bath and shower with plenty of hot water. The food is really superb, wonderful breakfast with plenty of choice, and I would highly recommend dining in the restaurant in the evening as I dined in it the second night and it was fantastic..the seabass was delicious! The staff are extremely welcoming, and I'd particularly like to thank David on reception, and the lovely gentleman who did the breakfast, (unfortunately I did not get his name), thank you for minding me so well...I'll be back!!! Oh, and a little tip for guests who may like a sea swim...you simply must go to Templenoe pier, it's 8km out the road and is an absolutely perfect location to swim!!!! Enjoy!

Lovely, warm and clean accommodation right in the heart of Kenmare. Extremely central location and very quiet. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. A big shout out to David for the airport drop-off and fantastic chat, it was brilliant meeting you and we’ll definitely be recommending Davitts to stay in!

Because of the restaurant's great location, we heard a lot of street noise. Just bring ear plugs and you'll be fine.
The location was right in the heart of the town. We loved our big room, the biggest room we had during our entire trip to Ireland. The breakfast was included and excellent. We also ended up eating dinner in the hotel and really enjoyed our meal.

Hot during the night, but a fan was provided. Had to open up the windows and let the fan run for a few hours to cool the room down. Bed a little small. Unable to park nearby, but it's Kenmare, the main streets are 2 hrs max during the day. We parked across from the church for the duration of our stay, free of charge.
Very central location, good sized room with a decent powerful shower. Very clean. Staff helpful, especially the gentleman at breakfast. Breakfast was great 👍
