A bit more natural light in the Tack Room would not hurt. The rooms, while cozy appeared to be a bit dark. Perhaps throwing ambient floor lamps or wall chandeliers would be a good idea.

Very good location. Close proximity to the Hill of Tara and other sites as well as towns and villages in the area. Excellent accommodation, very clean. Attentive and accommodating stuff on site. We were moved by a thoughtful details like a welcoming gift basket with fresh eggs, milk, butter and other goodies. The owners also equipped the property with all the necessities required for a comfortable stay, like an umbrella, picnic basket, and other lovely things. We felt welcomed and would certainly love to come back and stay at decoy cottages again. The local kitty Rona stole our hearts. Totally welcoming, beautiful ginger lap kitty!

There was nothing at all to dislike.

Everything about the cottages were perfect. Paula and Rachel went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. The kids were allowed to run around and be themselves without any restrictions within the grounds. We observed every day how tirelessly the hosts run around to make sure everything is perfect. The amount of family activities within the facilities was amazing. There were options of feeding the animals, a football pitch and basketball pitch, playground and much more. The kids loved the Den which had alot of indoor activities for when it was raining outside. I have stayed in many places but it's the first time having such a thorough step to step guide on every part of our stay (including how to put on each appliance). We will be definitely booking again.

The cottage we stayed at was a two bed but the main bedroom with the bathroom (en-suite) but the only bathroom for a shower or a bath, meant you had to access the bedroom of your companion to shower, if you were staying in the other bedroom. There is however a wc on the lower floor. (Not great if you need the bathroom at night and using the bedroom without the en-suite. Also not sure why this bedroom had a sofa bed when the room was large enough for a normal (double) bed. I felt this would have been much more comfortable as my elderly mom had to sleep on the sofa bed. The other bedroom needs a mirror (just a small portable mirror would have been great, useful for three women staying in one house and also because the one on the wall was too high to use when getting ready or doing hair.

I have stayed here previously so had a good idea of the property. It feels home away from home. Beautiful house very comfortable. The location is just on the outskirts of Navan town. You do need a car. Loved the welcome pack on arrival and the wonderful fresh soda bread! Great especially when you arrive late evening. Also liked the board games and books that were left for leisure. Lovely wood burn fire made the house feel cosy on the cold evening we were there.

    Nothing

Beautiful property, full of character, private and secure. Our cottage exceeded our expectations, spacious, cosy, clean, very well furnished and the welcome hamper made of local products, is really a lovely touch. You have a series of brochures, different activities, everything is well thought and is making you feel like at home.

We loved Decoy cottages. It was the perfect location for a family holiday where we wanted to explore Dublin as well as all the local attractions. Trim castle, the hill of Tara, newgrange and of course Emerald park were all only a short drive away. Our kids, 9 & 5, loved playing outside with the kids from the other houses and it was so safe for them to do so. The house was spotless and everything we needed was provided. The welcome basket on arrival was very much appreciated. We stayed in the Hen House and would absolutely stay again when we are holidaying on that side of the country. We loved the little ginger cat that came visiting every morning too!

This was our second stay at Decoy Country Cottages. The accommodation is very spacious and very well equipped. The welcome basket is lovely with local produce and dog biscuits. The beds are really comfy and it's so peaceful. There is a games room with weights next door to the cottage and table tennis outdoors. The cottage is in a good location for exploring the local area.
