Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

I did not know how to work the shower. But, it might have been the fact that I come from a different culture.
The woman who ran the establishment drove us downtown, free of charge. That's the extra mile that makes me want to give her a high rating.

What you are offering for a short stay is excellent
As soon as we arrived at the airport, Elsie arranged for our pickup. When we arrived at the B&B we were asked if we would like some tea, and were offered of tea and home-made Irish cake, which was delicious. Our hosts were incredibly hospitable. Our stay at the B&B was clean, comfortable, with plenty of hot water. The Irish breakfast was delicious. This B&B is located just 15 minute walk to the Shrine of Our Lady of Knock. I would highly recommend Divine Mercy B&B. Elsie is a wonderful and courteous host.

We had a lovely stay

Elsie was very welcoming offering us a cup of tea on arrival and helpful by checking the times of Mass and looking after our left luggage. We thoroughly enjoyed a delicious Irish breakfast, our stay was short but we shall certainly stay again.

All was good
Straight away on arrival, we were asked if we would like some tea 🍵 😋 first impression last 😉 😜. Soon, we had tea and buns after a long journey it was much appreciated 👏 lovely host, lovely rooms, and beds, and breakfast the next morning was top class .

My only real complaint is that there were a few spider webs in the shower area. This didn't bother me too much though. There are also not a whole lot of options for food in the town, especially if you don't have a car.
Our stay was fantastic! Our hosts were incredibly hospitable. They really cared for us as guests. We felt right at home when we entered, and we were offered coffee and tea. The home was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. The town of Knock is incredibly peaceful and beautiful. This B&B is located just a 15 minute from the Shrine of Our Lady of Knock.

Josie greeted us with a smile and the warmest handshake. She made tea late at night and brought biscuits to us We had such a lovely conversation She cooked the most delicious breakfast AND kept coming in with fresh tea. I had the best time. I met fabulous guests. Although I didn't meet the owner Josie took impeccable care of me and all staying. Fabulous breakfast and so attentive. Nice, relaxing quiet rooms too. Couldn't fault it. Thank you.

We stayed here as a family during our pilgrimage and had a fantastic experience. The place was exceptionally clean, with fresh bed linen and towels for all of us. It’s just a 10-minute walk to the shrine, which was perfect, and there’s a supermarket close by for daily essentials. The host was absolutely lovely—welcoming us warmly with coffee and biscuits on arrival, which really made us feel at home. She was kind, attentive, and made sure everything was just right for our stay. We’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to other families visiting the area.
