Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe only thing I really didn't like was not being able to locate it. I was very lucky and grateful that someone staying at the hostel walked in because I would have been looking forever.
The Dublin Quayside is a good hostel, though it is almost impossible to find because it is unmarked. The young man who checked me in was superb. The room was comfy and I appreciated not being in a bunk bed. The location is great. All in all, I had a good experience.

IrelandNot that clean but OK. You won't have access to the kitchen unless you stay for more than one week which is odd. Beds aren't that comfy. Some of the showers are clogged and water builds up especially the ones upstairs. Regular service is required indeed. I find increasing the prices on the weekend is unfair as it is already expensive for a hostel (I know Dublin is an expensive city but still ...)
Great staff, nice vibe, people are friendly. Great location.

SpainPersonally I think more shared bathrooms will be a plus, we needed to go to the below floor to the toilet. But this was not a great deal to be fair. Fits the purpose and the price compare with other places in Dublin. Maybe indications of the name outside? We were confused as it’s not indicated that that’s a hostel
Well connected with the city center, not as expensive as other accommodations and also quiet then other more centric hostels. Reception is open 24 h and staff was really great and accommodating, my locker had a broken lock and they fix it for when we came at night. They also kept our luggage after we check out so we could do some more visiting on the city before heading to the airport. Has a spacious hall with tables where you can relax or have lunch and free coffee and tea.

IrelandThere's no sign for the hostel, so you just have to find the door on the street and hope for the best. They're is also a beer garden right beside it, so noise levels can be quite loud, so not great for sensitive sleepers. The pillow provided also could use replacement.
The biggest thing with this hostel is that everyone has their own beds, no bunks. Makes sleeping alot easier and there is less people on each room.

United KingdomNo sign to locate the place which is very bad at night, can be loud and there is light in each room which is permanently on as an apparent 'legal requirement' which made it impossible to sleep a wink.

BelgiumNo blackout curtains so without a mask and earplugs you will wake up at 5am. No seating in the showers, nowhere to keep your clothes dry. No bathroom on top floor.
The rooms were clean and the beds were decent. Not overcrowded. Convenience store nearby. Lovely staff.

JapanOne of my roommate, he’s from Somalia, I don’t judge people by nationality at all but he’s really selfish and hard to share a place with people, always complain and force us what he need and he never take our request at all. I mean I wasn’t lucky enough to be with him during my stay. There might be many complains about him, at least people around me were so uncomfortable by him so we wanted to make some acts to him by the hostel… And two things about hostel that kitchen doesn’t have proper knife and cutting board so that hard to cook something properly. There are three shower places but two of them on second floor can’t supply warm and hot enough water supply. That’s it
First of all, all the staffs at this hostel are so kind and helpful all the time I was really comfortable with them during my stay. And in my room, three all bed are individual so that I was able to sleep as relaxing. And there are three different shower rooms, we don’t have to wait someone finish, at least there are vacant one way or the others.

United KingdomLack of signage outside made it initially difficult to find, and the doors are opened using a smart phone app which isnt the most intuitive.
Great location along the main river, very airy and spacious with high ceilings, massive rooms and alot of space to relax around. The staff member on duty was also an absolute delight, super friendly and helpful.

United StatesFacilities could have been cleaner. No clear marking on enterance identifying that this place was indeed the hostel. Just an unassuming door. Walls are thin so it was a bit noisy.
Appreciated them accomodating my last minute reservation. Location was good. Dublin is a pretty walkable city so anything is within a fair distance. Room was pretty bare bones but clean and secure.
