Great location in Adare; breakfast is amazing w everything sourced (try local Croom farm eggs); dinner and bar on site fantastic. Next to Riverwalk.

Somewhat dated rooms; esp ones not facing interior property.

Historic hotel in the heart of Adare village. We were given an upgrade at check-in! Thank you for that. The room was large and had a 4 poster bed. The shower was powerful, and the Voya bathroom products were divine. Drinks and service at the bar and in the dining room was super. We liked the overall traditional style and hospitable vibe about the place.

The duvet was way too warm for summer temperatures!. No separate sheet, so we had to remove the duvet cover to get a sheet and sleep without the duvet. A blanket as a lighter cover option would have worked. Road noise was a barrier to opening the window. The website advertised baked carved ham for breakfast, but it seems that's an occasional feature. Breakfast was mediocre for a 4* hotel overall, but the coffee was good. Nothing that can't be improved upon. Would absolutely stay again.

    Nice location

Bed was way too soft and have been dealing with back pain since. The mattress had zero support and was concave in the middle. Overall the hotel was a bit stuffy and dusty feeling. Went for a massage which while the staff member was nice was above the gym facility In What felt like a prefab overlooking the parking. I would have mentioned the uncomfortable stay when checking out but was not asked how we enjoyed our stay and felt like the man was rushing to check us out.

Some of the hotel is run down but the rooms were nice and new. Good location, breakfast was amazing.

We seem to have been in the old part which had no lift and it was split levels with lots of steps. Would not recommend it for someone with reduced mobility or very young children as it's a lot of up and down and hard to get your buggy ect to your room. I feel booking.com should do more to highlight this when booking your room. Also the hotel takes a security deposit which again booking.com did not mention

Room was very spacious and comfortable

I thought the hot buffet breakfast would have been better. Only black puddings, no white puddings. Sausages were seasoned and would be an acquired taste

Wonderful service and lovely staff. The garden and outdoor bar area was stunning. We were lucky enough to score a room update which was very kind.

    It's a very nice hotel.

I don't like paying a deposit for tabs in advance. It will determine me from rebooking.

I liked the breakfast, bed very comfortable. There was no tea and coffee facilities. The swimming pool was good too.

On Arrival i booked with my card for my Parents. I didn't realise that it was Card only payment. I wasn't present, the receptionist refused to take their cash. Card only. My parents don't have cards. He would let them check in. My dad was very upset as it was there first time away after my mother recovering from knee replacement. They didn't know what to do. My brother made contact with me I gave my card number, I didn't have cash in it. I thought card was used to secure your booking. I have used booking com alot , always paid by card. The receptionist wasn't a bit sympathetic towards my parent both in 70s, they were upset and panicing about their accomdations for night as the receptionist wouldn't accept their cash. Fearing that they would be stranded in Adare with no accommodations I understand policy within a business, but looking after senior citizens should be a priority too. It is unacceptable to be treated like this on Arrival to what should a mini holiday break Unfortunately both my parents didn't enjoy their stay. Thsnks

Staff and location were excellent and rooms were very clean and spacious.

Decor was a bit dated, and weird smell in corridors.

The room and breakfast were of a good standard and the staff very helpful

We did not like to provide a €50 deposit to cover other services at the hotel and to wait up to 5 working days for a refund if unused

I booked a single room. Was in room 7 and it was really beautiful. There was a wedding on and I was afraid the regular guests would be swamped by the party but the hotel managed to keep the regular part of the hotel quiet and pleasant even with a big party going on. It was very well done.

The air conditioning in the room didn't work. It said the temperature was 26.2 C when I arrived. I set it to go down to 16 C but it never got below 25.6 C. I ended up with the window wide open instead which cooled me down but kept me awake as I overlooked the main street and traffic was heavy. Also, while waiting to be seated for breakfast, the gentleman ignored me (I am short), looked right over my head, and seated the couple who had entered behind me. Not the best way to treat a single, middle aged female customer. The old saying that middle aged women become invisible seemed to be operating that morning. Breakfast was a bit odd. The sausages were GIGANTIC. I was offered eggs cooked to my liking but then saw several people receiving pancakes. Was there a written menu I wasn't offered? No one mentioned the option of pancakes to me and I love them.

    Lovely location and beautiful grounds

Arrived at half 3 . Check in was 3pm. Room was not ready until just after 4 . We were late to attend a wedding where as we needed to get ready first in our room. Also told I had a 50 euro deposit to pay aswell as room price. It wasn’t noted anywhere when booking. She informed me when I questioned it that it’s “down the bottom” of emails . Used the pool the next morning. Old and outdated Pool was smelling . Paid 20 euro for breakfast to the room . Was not impressed with it to be honest.

Beautiful room, cosy atmosphere and the staff were so accommodating and kind. The extra touches were noted and it honestly exceeded our expectations! Would recommend

The accomodation staff entered the room the morning of check out while we were still there, maybe a system to let them know which rooms have checked out could be best.
