Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe bathrooms may need a little re decorating but this is only a minor thing and it didn't impact our stay at all.

Our cottage had a yellow door which we liked - great first impression. It was spacious, clean and comfortable with all the appliances and utensils you need - so it felt like home from home. The location is uniquely stunning with the Burren mountains and landscape all around you, as well as views of the wild Atlantic. We heard a cuckoo calling as soon as we stepped out of the car, a sound we haven't heard for years in the UK - a magical moment - the first time my children, aged 14 & 16 had ever heard a cuckoo. The owners are wonderful - responsive, kind, friendly and helpful - and full of knowledge and information about the area. This is such a special place particularly if you love and care about the biodiversity of the natural world.

IrelandThe house is quite old, the furniture is old and creaky, the electronic appliances are very old, make funny sounds and don't work properly. I did not like that there were hidden costs - we were charged for using electricity and heating, lucky we noticed that 10eur/day were included, the host was not going to point this out. It;s not modern practice to have hidden costs/ charge for electricity - normally elecricity is included
The location is beautiful - with a view of the sea and views of mountains and fields all around. The beautiful Fanore beach is only 2 min drive away (10 min walk on the road). The house is very spacious with large bedrooms and recreation rooms.

IrelandNothing really. A little update of the house manual would be great - the cooker is newer than the one described in the booklet.
Anne the host was on hand for anything needed. We got a lovely bag of turf to light a fire. House has everything you could need.

United StatesNon-refundable booking but there was an extra charge for electricity and fuel oil that we weren’t told about until check-in. Very little toilet paper, no toiletries, paper towels or napkins, etc. - basically it’s a lovely place to stay but you’d better bring everything you’ll be needing. Also, the beautiful wooden staircase is dangerously slick if you’re wearing socks.
Stunning location, quiet, very dark at night. Sitting room with fireplace made a wonderful family gathering spot in the evenings. Close to Doolin but more affordable than most accommodations in the area.

United StatesIt feels like living in the 1970s. The bathrooms are very old and have never been renovated. The shower is very uncomfortable to use (small, no pressure, ancient apparatus). The living room has grandparents' sofas and carpets. The stove, dishwasher, and microwave in the kitchen are very old and have problems. The mattresses and chairs are very old and worn. Place still has single-pane drafty windows. If this were renovated, it could be a good house.
Great location with views of the ocean Extremely spacious - can sleep 10 + people Fireplace, kitchen has a lot of utensils Charming from the outside with good parking Clean Friendly owner
