Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThis place is literally ONLY BED and Breakfast. There were 4 beds squeezed into the room, there was no space (thank God it did not rain cause I cannot imagine how we would have managed wet jackets, umbrellas etc etc), no proper table and chairs to sit at, no shelves, no hooks to hang towels or jackets so our towels were hanging on the headboards. We were travelling with teenagers. We asked to use the dining room to play board games/ cards in the evening and we were told it was a room only. Creating a small common area for guests would really change this place for the better. Alternatively, in this particular room, I would replace one single bed with a bunk bed and remove one by the window to create space for a table with two chairs. It felt like they were trying to squeeze as many people as possible. Also, no fan in the room and it was really hot, no hair dryer, no bin. Cleaning service... hmmmm someone came to the room, folded our towels (they did not seem fresh, just folded so we had no idea whose towel was which) but did not take dirty cups or rubbish that were on the table. If you are young and you just need a bed to sleep cause your plan is to be out and about most of the time, this place is perfect. If you hope for a little bit more than just a bed, you might be disappointed.
We really liked the location. The house is located 15 minutes from the city centre and that was great. The food was very very good and the chef was lovely.

United StatesThe room was very small for three people and the shower was so small that my wife couldn't use it. The shower head could not be adjusted. There was no way to work out of our suitcases without leaving them on the beds.
Our host was very friendly and accommodating. The location is within walking distance to the town and the breakfast was excellent. We were happy to be on the ground level as their is no elevator.

AustraliaBathroom/shower was very small and there was a gap in the door reflecting the shower in the outside sink mirror meaning there was very little privacy in the bathroom. Walls are definitely quite thin
The property was close to the city and the staff were great! Bed was comfy!

DenmarkWe choose a room that was too small! Not the B&B's problem, but the room would be better for just one person. The shower was small and the shower water pressure was weak.
Excellent accommodation in Galway for a night or two. Great breakfast (to be paid separately) and very kind and helpful staff. Quiet neighbourhood within walking distance of the center.

The room was clean and nice and perfect for one person for one night. The bathroom was a bit small but other than that, great stay!

United KingdomBathroom and shower very small. Curtains in room 1 need attention as difficult to close and track needs maintenance. This was important as room faced the road and is on ground floor.

United StatesThe room was very small for a triple room. One double or queen bed and a twin filled the space with only room to walk between. There was not enough space to put 3 suitcases so I had mine at the foot of my bed, against a wall and my daughters had theirs on the floor against another wall about two feet from the bottom of their bed. There was no place to sit except a wooden chair at a small "desk" where the coffee maker was. The hair dryer could be plugged in there, but I had to get on my hands and knees to plug it in under the desk. There were no night stands or a place to put your cup of coffee or anything else except on the floor next to the bed. There was one overhead light. The size of this room would have been fine for one double bed. There would have been room for a couple of pieces of useful furniture. This listing said parking on site, but we soon learned it was first come, first served for the 5 or 6 spots. We had to park across the street along the road on one day. I don't like leaving a negative review since the host was very nice, but it was a difficult stay.

United StatesOur room was tight, “spartan and dormitory style” for three people. Beds were ok and bathroom was very small, too. Bumped into each other a lot.
Location was quiet and very accessible to town. Dining room was pleasant and breakfast, especially the omelets, was delicious. Chef and staff were very nice.

CanadaThe bathroom. Very very small with a very very small sink. The toilet was located in the corner of that rectangular small space, being a challenge to use it because of the sink which was blocking the access. It was a square half meter by half meter with a shower. Nothing where to put your shower get or the soap. No hooks, no trays, nothing. Very inconvenient. Very bad lay out
The location. Close to the bus station and to the train station. Around 6 minutes walk or 2 bus stops if you wanted to use the public transit. The safety. Quiet, peaceful neighborhood. Nice people, ready to help you with directions. The breakfast. Clean dinning room. Amazing hot meals made pretty fast. Delicious food. All the staff members were very polite friendly, helpful. The room with a private bathroom was actually a small log cabin located in the house's backyard. It was very quiet and safe. The bedroom was small but cozy. Heat was on. It had a very small TV but it was enough for some news and the weather channel.
