Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandRather noisy in the morning, because of the buisy junction, but maybe it was just our luck :).
Central location, quick and easy check-in, complete independence (you're handed a key-card and left to your own devices). If you prefer to eat in, there's a proper kitchen at your disposal, and a shop nearby.

IrelandThe sound proofing on the rooms is not good. I wanted an early night and I could hear the TV in the next room like it was in my own. Also, my room had two external lights on the inside of my the windows, facing on to the street designed to light up the front of the building. They are behind the curtains, but inside the room! You can't turn them off, they are on a timer with no switch. They made the room unbearably bright, so I called the host who suggested removing the bulbs. That worked, but it''s one of the most bizarre things I'd ever seen in a hotel room Ultimately I had a good nights sleep after removing the bulbs and when my neighbor turned off their TV. But just be aware it has some quirks.
I stopped here for the night on a cycling trip. The room was brand new, spotlessly clean. The shower was good and the bed was good. Kettle and tea/coffee/water provided.. There was a pub in town where I got a decent dinner, and there's an exceptionally good cafe next door where I got some breakfast. They also provided access to a secure back area where I could lock my bike for the night. The host was very helpful. The keyless access worked fine.

CanadaMy only issue was that I did not receive messages regarding how to access the accommodation. I understand that messages were sent by phone and via the company I booked the room with. However, as I had a SIM card in my cell phone from the UK while I live in Canada, I did not receive the phone messages. I also did not receive messages via the hotel booking company. I suggest that they use my email which was provided which works much better, or have better info at the entrance to the hotel how to contact the person who can provide access. This person was extremely helpful and I was very appreciative that she came quickly to the hotel to assist me.
Very nice accommodation.

IrelandNothing!
The room was exceptionally clean, with a very comfortable double bed. It was so clean we felt like we were the first people to ever even stay there! The host was very accommodating as we arrived late after travelling and it was no issue. Couldn't say more about the convenience and comfort!

IrelandThe accommodation has no sign or indication that it is there. I passed by it 3 times until a local pointed it out. Crossmolina itself is dead and suffering dereliction. No restaurant, a pub that serves food Thursday to Sunday, I was there Wednesday. There are 2 takeaway outlets, a chipper and a Chinese.
The single room is compact and has a spacious en suite bathroom. There is a small kitchen downstairs where one could reheat prepared meals, have tea and coffee. I didn't use the kitchen because the nearby Gala does a nice sit in full Irish breakfast for €8.

IrelandThe kitchen only has a toaster and a microwave, but we were missing a fire or an oven in order to cook something as there werent many options to eat around. It was the only thing about this place, but an air fryer was quickly brought to the house and that was just perfect! Thank you, we will be staying again here if we are ever back around.
Leah was absolutely amazing, she made us feel so welcome and was very attentive. The accommodation was very clean and all amenities were new. Great location for what we wanted to go to see

IrelandEverything was fab, but I found it a bit confusing to find as the name of the accommodation was not listed outside. That was only a minor issue and I have no hesitation in recommending Gills Courtyard. I will certainly stay here again in the future.
We had a lovely stay in a warm, cozy and spotlessly clean room. The whole building seemed to be renovated recently and looked really good. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The location is very central in Crossmolina.

United KingdomThe room was above or nearly above the Crossmolina Show office and the noise from it during the day kept me awake as i tried to get an afternoon nap after my long journey. In my opinion the bedrooms need sound proofing too as my neighbour's talking at night also kept me awake. This is a lovely facility which i would definitely stay in again and I honestly wish the owners well ....but it would be greatly improved by a new mattress and soundproofing and off street car parking would be a great asset as well if that was possible.
The bedroom and en suite were new and really good

United KingdomThe bedroom was very small. It was very warm in Crossmolina during our 3 night stay and with only a velux window and no aircon in the bedroom the room was uncomfortably warm reaching 28c. We contacted the manager to request a fan but this request fell on deaf ears which was hugely disappointing to us. Were it not that we borrowed a fan from one of our family members we would have had no option but to leave the accommodation. The check in procedure was also far from satisfactory passing between 2 contacts. A sign that would give an indication that the property was 'Gills Courtyard' would also help the client experience as it took me a number of attempts to locate the property.
Central location, very clean. very good lighting.
