How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Noise from the street. Patrons exiting the bar after midnight kept us awake. Noise again at 6am when a van was unloading.
Sea view. Breakfast. Big room.

Couldn't really fault it...so good we stayed an extra night!
The bath was fantastic, nearly as big as the swimming pool!

We were a group of nine staying for a work event, and the hotel was very accommodating with the various room changes and guest arrangements we needed. They also kindly stored our luggage for a late check-in, which we really appreciated. We had originally booked dinner for 7pm, but at 6:30pm asked if it would be possible to move it to 7:30pm. The staff suggested dining at the new fish restaurant, Alaria, instead—and we’re so glad we did. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. A special mention to Giuseppe, who was extremely patient and helpful in explaining the menu to such a large group. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic, with plenty of choice and great quality. The Shull Harbour Hotel itself is in a brilliant location, just a short walk to local bars and the pier. I would highly recommend both the hotel and Alaria restaurant.

It's hard to find a negative. Eating at the hotel is expensive, but this is everywhere.

We stayed for 6 days, would have been good that there is a cleaning included in the middle. Another point was that there was a woodworm in the frame of the bed which was a bit noisy
The apartment was convenient, there was a washing machine and full kitchen, which was good for long stay with kids. The restaurant was good too

Not that we really needed it but the TV in the room was tiny, smaller that my computer screen.
Its a great hotel in a small town. Staff were friendly, the room was good and the location at the end of the main straight and close to the harbour was perfect.

A fridge in our room would have been brilliant Also the shower in the bath was not suitable for my elderly mother.
The breakfast was fantastic...crepes and porridge...were not on the menu....and when we asked for these...no problem...making it for us... The lunch and dinner also fantastic...loved it all.

It was disappointing that there was no casual lounge seating for guests. You had to be in the cafe or restaurant in order to sit and read the paper.
Great location. Lovely bedroom, very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

We had a terreo apartment; so there was not much sun or light coming in. Also, the hair dryer didn't work, but the girl in the reception didn't seem concern to provide a solution.
The location is just perfect. It is right at Schull Harbour, so we just crossed the road and were in the beautiful Schull Harbours facilities. Additionally, the structure of the self-catering apartment is perfect for a family; we had everything that we needed.

The breakfast was not included, it was an additional expense. The breakfast service was slow as it was very busy. The steam room was out of order. The mattress could have been better.
The location is excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very good. The hotel had good facilities. The hotel is well maintained, it is clean and comfortable. The pool area is nice.

Breakfast was rather poor. No fresh fruit, only a simple fruit salad. Small selection of pastries. Staff at reception desk not very friendly.

The street noises during the night was loud because we opened the window for fresh air.
Swimming pool was enjoyable, clean and too busy. The apartment was well equiped with appliaces. Clean linen and towels. Spacious apartment.
