Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe owners were so nice and welcoming I felt like I had returned home. The house is magnificent and the nicest and most beautiful building I have ever stayed in both in the communal areas and private room.

AustraliaIt was all good.
This was a fabulous place - very classy and a destination in itself. Loved the decor and outdoor spaces. It is so close to the castle and a lovely walk to the Abby ruins and local traditional pub and good restaurants. It was only one night but we felt right at home. The people before us were having a reunion of several families and rented the whole place! Perfect place for this. There was no breakfast offered but we had been travelling for a while and just wanted our simple cereal and fruit which we could keep in the fridge. Plenty of places close by to get breakfast but we didn’t bother for one night. So good to have the parking. The hosts were lovely and so helpful. We wished we’d been able to stay longer.

AustraliaThere was nothing not to like.
The guest house is just so beautiful. The building itself has many intricate architectural details, and the decor is opulent and in-keeping with the style of the house. The room was very lovely with all the amenities required for the stay, including tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and perfectly clean. The whole room, and indeed the whole house, was immaculately clean. The location of the house was perfect, a comfortable short walk to the town centre, Trim Castle and shops on the main street. Despite this, it was very quiet. Geraldine, the hostess, was very responsive to our messages and was very welcoming on arrival, providing local information. The stay at the guesthouse made our visit very enjoyable. I would definitely return here again.

United KingdomEverything was fine.
Stopping over for one night travelling across Ireland, this was an excellent choice, particularly for a single person. The single room provided all the facilities needed and was extremely comfortable with a lovely view across towards the river. There was excellent communication over check-in arrangements and although breakfast is not available, it's easy to walk to other restaurants nearby.

EstoniaCharming old house on top of a small hill. Near the castle and Trim centre. You can walk everywhere. The room remainded me a classic manor house. My bathroom had a rooftop window that made it brigh and lit up the room also. The room had a big TV with lots of channels + apps (youtube etc.). Wi-fi was working well. The hotel had no reception. Move in and move out was contactless. They just left me the key and communicated through booking.com. For me it was fine. The hotel was good value for money compared to other nearby hotels. I would stay there again.

IrelandThat I don’t own the place - honestly I was ready to move in!
• The house was full of character and history - it felt like stepping back in time, in the best way. • The gardens were absolutely beautiful and well maintained perfect for enjoying the rare heatwave and having a takeaway dinner and a nice glass of wine. • Eddie, the host was a fountain of local knowledge and quick to recommend local restaurants and walks - he made my stay feel personal and welcoming. • The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing just what I needed. • The bed was super comfy, the beautiful bedding made it hard to get up in the morning • Thoughtful touches like a fresh, fluffy facecloth added to the comfort • Housekeeping was friendly and discreet - no early morning knocks! • 12 noon checkout was the icing on the cake - who wants to be rushed in the mornings?
