Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe building in itself has a great character. But I guess due to lack of funds it feels that it need regular maintenance and Cleaning. Cleaning is the weakest point.
It is a very central location. The room was big and I had an en-suite bathroom (I would not have booked a room without it).

AustraliaWe found the bed a bit firm for us oldies. We are also not fans of showers over a bath, again because we are older. But here Jim at least had a non slip mat in the shower.
Jim was a great host, despite his current leg injury. He was always up for a friendly chat and advice on what one could see and do. The location was a key factor. Within walking distance to centre of Dublin, as well as other facilities along Camden rd. Twas hard for us to find affordable accommodation close to town, given we're managing a budget for a 9 month trip.

The bed was comfortable and the room had everything you need. Towels and plenty of bathroom products. Very close to the town for pubs and sightseeing. Jim was helpful in advising where to go. Breakfast was help yourself but plenty of bread, fruit and various jams, teas and coffees. Yes the place is a bit tired and could do with a bit of dusting but it was comfortable and a pleasant atmosphere. I had the place to myself so nice and quiet as well. I would happily stay there again.

United KingdomEverything. I booked the accommodation a month ahead and never heard from the owner how to get into the property. On the day, we arrived at 22:00, still no messages from the owner. So, I called and he told me that I had to let myself in by taking the key from key box (not a problem). However, he also told me that because he had been in hospital for a few days the room was not ready and I had to make the bed myself (which still wasn't a problem) or cancel the booking and go somewhere else (which was not practical as July is high season, we arrived during the weekend, was already late, and we already paid). The owner said that he would refund me 50%, but never heard from him when I messaged. Once in, we discovered the truth! The house was neglected for more than a few days (probably weeks if not months). All house was dirty and dusty with cats hair and bad smell and rubbish all around. The owner just grabbed our money. He could have cancelled the booking when he was admitted in hospital (I don't believe is the truth, anyway). I will file a complaint to Booking.com as the property is not fit to host people because it legally lacks the health and safety minimum standards.

United KingdomThe room was unclean, small & cluttered with the owners clothes & toiletries. My daughter is allergic to pets and it wasn’t mentioned that the owner had 2 cats that could wander every where ,so she had a allergic reaction. We paid for breakfast but were told we could make it ourselves out of what ever we found lying around in the kitchen which wasn’t much.
It was close to the sights

CanadaRain! But realistically you have to expect some precipitation or the isle wouldn't be emerald.
The location couldn't be better for accessing Dublin tourist attractions (10 minute walk). Well stocked kitchen. Quiet house and responsive host with good suggestions. Jim had arranged convenient parking nearby
