Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLocation is far from the airport. Using transfer or taxi is quite expensive. It would be good if the hotel had a shuttle service for guests coming from the airport.
Breakfast was good. There were many items to pick from. I would have liked there to be more non pork items on the cold meats section.

IrelandWe had an amazing stay. Only downside was it was €9.50 for a glass of Prosecco which was ok but it was warm when I requested it from the coach bar. All bar staff were very young and they may benefit from having a barman/women who can work the bar effectively
The Spa was incredible. And the breakfast was 5 star!

United KingdomThe spa is available to use for guests, however it is also a leisure club, so is full of paying leisure members which made it very difficult to enjoy around their water aerobics classes and strict rules- like you must wear a swimming hat to use the pool- which I obviously had not included in my packing!!
The grounds were beautiful and every effort had been made to make the stay enjoyable.

IrelandWe had lunch and dinner in the bar and the food was good but not amazing. It would also have been nice to see even a slightly different menu in the evening.
Everything was excellent. The staff were especially noticeable for their excellent service and friendliness. Our waitress in the evening, Patricia, was fantastic.

IrelandI didn't expect to have to pay to use the Thermal Suite, an additional payment as well as the accommodation. Many of the lockers in the swimming pool changing areas were broken, or had no locks and that area was very outdated.
The Thermal Suite was great. The food (dinner and breakfast) and cocktails were superb. The staff were friendly and the ambience was lovely.

IrelandI thought the cost of the food in the bar was quite high and the cost of our meal in Fire and Salt was high and the meal was only ok. The spa was lovely but again the treatments were pricey although it was a nice experience. I would say the spa lunch was only ok too. Nice soup but the sandwich was dry.
I liked the interior of the lodge, the lovely grounds and fairy trail and the bar and bar food. The spa was lovely and it was good that there was a hairdresser on site and beautician. The life sized Connect 4 and Jenga were fun.

IrelandI found bits of the room could have been a bit better. Parts of the bathroom were a bit old and wobbly (toilet seat was loose / falling off, tissue holder fell off the wall, shower was barely hanging in there). The door was also a pet peeve of mine during our stay as the chain lock always caught the door and stopped it from closing if left to swing shut on it's own (this was obviously a long standing issue as there were chunks of the door frame missing, like Edward Scissorhands had tried to repair it). Also we made enquiries about the spa, and having been at a number of other spa hotels in recent times found the prices here more expensive than other locations. All in all, the amazing staff far outweighed any small issues like above.
The staff were absolutely fantastic. Every single member of staff from the front desk to the bar, gym and room cleaners. They were all fantastic. Management took time to chat with you in the bar area, but were still right on top of it when it got busy. Food in the hotel was great, ate both in the bar and also at the Fire & Salt restaurant. Bar food was fab, very tasty and generous portions.

IrelandSome questionable repair jobs in the room made it look unpleasant. For the price of the food I expected better. The burger felt as if it was a frozen burger reheated. It was the same with the vegan burger, unbelievably dry.
Staff were unbelievably friendly.
