Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomRooms need updating, there’s no mat to put in the bath , when you shower or have a bath trying to get out it’s dangerous as the bath becomes very slippery. Also the breakfast wasn’t of great quality.
It’s convenient location in the town

IrelandFair bit of noise from the road (front rooms) but this was really due to the hot weather and the need to leave the windows open.
Staff were exceptional in all areas, probably this hotels best asset. Parking around the back was secure and convenient (especially handy for Motorcyclists). Food was reasonably priced and well presented. The bar/food area was always busy, a good sign.

NetherlandsThese lines shouldn't be taken as criticism, but only as friendly suggestions for consideration. Firstly, our room had a window opening to a light shaft. In it were ducts extracting the fumes from the kitchen. So the windows could not be opened (otherwise the smell would fill the room. The extraction ventilators were kept running during the night, causing noise. It would be nice if they would have been turned off after the kitchen closed. Secondly, we were staying over to catch our plane next morning. Most flights from Knock depart quite early, so we needed to vacate the room before breakfast service started. I think this is not a unique or rare scenario, since Knock has regular flights to the UK and the Netherlands and who knows where else. Staying in many hotels all over Europe for work, I know service in most of them starts at least one hour earlier, if not earlier (E.g, in Brussels many hotel breakfast areas are up and running around 6). To accommodate our type of outbound traveller, it would be nice if one would be able to get some breakfast. So these are just some points for consideration coming to mind. But it doesn't diminish my appreciation for the kind welcome and the help with finding an adapter for charging my phone.
We were welcomed by a cheerful and very kind member of the hotel staff. She gave us all the information we needed and there was no unnecessary fuss or formalities. The location, in the centre of the town, was excellent and the hotel is not far from Knock West Ireland Airport, which was our destination. The room was OK, and the bedlinen was crispy clean. All in all a very positive experience.

IrelandThe TV didn't work and when I asked what the problem was, the receptionist did say it had been reported but they were waiting for the repair person to come. I also felt that it was a tad expensive.
Beautiful hotel. Very comfortable and super cleanq. Staff were all young but very professional and obliging. We only stayed 1 night but the room was really lovely. We had breakfast next morning and it was very tasty, one of the better breakfasts I've had in recent times.

IrelandMy wife and I had a lovely stay. It is a lovely quiet small town with really friendly locals. We were able to park on the street right outside the Hotel - it couldn't have been any handier. We ate in the hotel and the food was lovely and very reasonable. Breakfast was nice too - it would have been 'really nice' only I forgot to ask for the hollandaise sauce on the side - I don't like too much sauce but this was on me. Lovely coffee and a great speedy service.

South AfricaRoom comfortable but you couldn't regulate the temperature so we opened a window for cooler air to come in but that let in terrible noise from the road and we were then unable to close the window so didn't get a great nights sleep as road is a main road and extremely noisy. Also signage to and from car park not very good. Lucky my partner had stayed there before so know where to go.

IrelandI would have preferred a stand alone shower rather than a bath shower. 2 bottles of water in the room each night would have been appreciated. Although we really enjoyed our stay, we felt for the area the hotel very overpriced - €130 per night for 2 people would seem more reasonable, we paid €180 per night.
Food and service were excellent. Bed was large and very comfortable and the bathroom toiletries were good quality

United KingdomIt does need a little bit of modernising but keeping its traditional charm. But please change the shower curtains 😀 The hot water needs looking at in the bathrooms. We had to change first room as the shower did not heat up. The second room it never got hot hot.
It was in a great location close to airport, nice little town and in easy reach of surrounding towns. The staff made the place. Such a welcoming arrival and nothing was too much trouble. We had to leave before breakfast and the chap on night duty very kindly did us toast and tea before we left on NY day. The rooms were warm and cosy.

IrelandMain part of hotel a little chilly but it is an old building, rooms were warm so that was good. Had a BLT for lunch would have been nice if there was some bacon in it. Had roast for dinner was beautiful (apart from pesto on my plate, I don't personally believe pesto goes with a roast dinner but that's just me). Beds could be at a minimum king size but the standard double was very comfortable.
Bedrooms lovely and warm, comfy bed. Lovely friendly staff. Great breakfast.
