How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

No clear signage to identify which property quickly. I suggested that a cut-out of a kitty cat would do it, as it is a residential area.

My initial plan was to stay in Shannon, as that was where my work assignment was based, but I eventually found accommodation here. The experience exceeded my expectations in every way. Gerald provided my colleague and me with a level of comfort that went far beyond anything we could have imagined. He constantly went the extra mile — offering to drop us at the mall or around town and always picking us up whenever we were ready. This was far beyond our original arrangement, yet he did it with such kindness and generosity. The facility itself was quiet, peaceful, and the perfect place to rest after long days. It felt like a true home away from home. What stood out most, however, was Gerald’s exceptional hospitality. He created a truly wonderful experience, both within the facility and beyond it. I have already made a personal commitment to return with my family, because nothing compares to the warmth and hospitality Gerald showed us. Gerald, if you are reading this — thank you once again. Even our folks back in Nigeria were delighted to hear about the incredible experience we had.

Verified reviewStaff very helpful and friendly we travelled down from Belfast for a concert and the owner was very helpful in getting us a some extra mirrors for getting ready and even offered us a lift to the event. the room was great had a smart TV so we were able to listen to music ect and the bed was very comfortable . We were also offered tea and toast the next day . Gerard was very helpful with directions and recommendations on were we could go for food ect when we were leaving . Would definitely stay again if we make a return trip

Verified reviewThe location and price attracted us. The place is under a bit of construction, but the work that’s completed is beautiful. The host has excellent taste. The upstairs bathroom has gorgeous gigantic tiles like I have never seen. There are a few tiles left to be placed but apparently there are trades people shortages. The shower was modern, clean and had plenty of hot water. The host was so lovely and apologetic for the shortcomings of the place. We sat for more than an hour getting to know him and hearing about what he is doing with the place. We will definitely stay again.
The parking area is a bit rough, but It will be stunning inside and out once it is completed.

I saw in host answers that this place is the cheapest in the area. I agree but I would rather small room, small bed and clean bedroom. Floors were dirty (dust and people hair on the floor), cobwebs around the walls and ceiling, dusty side beds and lamps and then under the bed was everything- trash, dusty side beds, mats- everything moved under the bed( took photos as I couldn’t belive it).Place has potential, really- someone has a nice taste of decorating- but they do need a good cleaner
you came very late at night and we were overbooked i showed you a room we don't normally rent out and you accepted you say everything thing was moving under the bed how can that be our beds are low to the ground you would have to go down on all fours to look under there why would anyone want to do that if we choose to use under the bed for storage of mats thats our business not yours we could have refused you and you would have to somewhere else late at night but we dinint and let you stay the floor s were cleaned what you are saying is totally untrue and lies Thanks Gérard

Verified reviewThis was one of the best places we have ever stayed. Not only was the room exactly as described, but it was even better in reality. Everything was thought out to the smallest detail: from the comfortable bed to the fully equipped kitchen. I would especially like to note the cleanliness - everything was sparkling. The owner is an incredibly hospitable person. He met us, showed and told us everything, and also gave some great tips on local attractions and restaurants. Communication was easy and pleasant. We felt at home. We sincerely recommend!
