Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesMy particular room did not have a ceiling fan, which I missed. It was a little warm at night.
Our bartender Gary was really great. Beautiful smile and quick with a laugh.

IrelandMy only negative was breakfast, now when I booked, it said included! My payment was taken a few days prior and it was only on arrival we were tolded it was continental, now we were in lake garda a fortnight ago and had a continental breakfast included, far superior to yours, it did the job fine but it is misleading when on booking breakfast included! It wouldn't but me off staying again though
It was a lovely nite away, the room was fab, facing onto the street, loved the decor of the hotel, we were met by a lovely guy at reception and met him again on leaving, he was a really nice guy! Great facilities in room, very welcoming!

United StatesWhile the rooms were generally very comfortable, we did notice a bit of variation in temperature: one room felt a touch too warm, while the other was slightly on the cooler side. It wasn't a major issue, but something to keep in mind if you're particular about climate control.
We had a wonderful experience staying at this small historic hotel during our trip to Ireland! The building itself is full of old-world charm, beautifully maintained with just the right touch of character. Each room, while compact, was thoughtfully designed, warm, and incredibly cozy—perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The location couldn't have been better. Nestled right in the heart of town, we were just minutes away from the start of the Ring of Kerry and had easy access to all the highlights of Killarney. We loved being able to walk to local shops and pubs in the evening and enjoy the vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere. One of the standout features was the breakfast served in the restaurant downstairs—it was absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for a place with history, heart, and a fantastic location for exploring southwest Ireland, this little gem is hard to beat.

IrelandAlthough breakfast was included on Bookkng.com, we were informed that a limited continental breakfast was all that was included. Both the offering and the service of it left quite a lot to be desired. It let the hotel down.
Delightful spot, great location in centre of town. Room was lovely, very nicely decorated with excellent fittings and a very comfortable bed.

United KingdomCar parking limited and timing has to be right otherwise we would have been charged. Another option was to park near the library and walk.
Breakfast was not included and we needed to order off a menu. Our preference is to help ourselves to a buffet style breakfast although we do not have the cooked options.

United StatesI wish we had booked a different type of room and would not really recommend the "Little Nest". We had two rooms with views of the parking lot. Both were small and made a bit crowded with the inclusion of two lovely upholstered chairs and a little table. Very nice in concept but not practical in a room this size. Removing a chair in favor of a more functional table or chest would be better. We had two people per room so resorted to using the chairs as luggage storage because there was nowhere else to put bags. There was a furniture unit that was intended to function as a place to hang clothes, hold a suitcase, enclose the safe and be the coffee pot area. Definitely efficient but not large enough for two people with one small bag and backpack each. Because there were two of us, I asked for a folding luggage stand. I was told they didn't have one, but I could use the aforementioned furniture unit.
We loved our stay at the Landsdowne. It was right in the center of town so it was an easy walk to everything in Kenmare. The hotel itself is very upscale and beautifully decorated, and the bar area was warm and cozy. We really enjoyed hanging out there with live music as a backdrop. We booked a "Little Nest" room and it was modern and clean with a very nice bathroom and a super comfy bed. There was a free parking area behind the hotel, so that was definitely a plus. I would definitely recommend the hotel itself but would suggest upgrading to a room other than "Little Nest". There is no elevator, so just be mindful of that if mobility is an issue.

CanadaParking can be a challenge, and the beds may not be to everyone's taste — very soft. Lots of stairs as well, so those needing good accessibility may want to look elsewhere, or be very precise in your booking.
Somewhat upscale hotel right in the heart of Kenmare. Near lots of shops, pubs and restaurants. Kind and helpful staff. While the parking lot is small, it's included in the price. Great place for doing day trips around Co. Kerry.
