Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaDue to the common area of eating, the eating comfort was absent. Because, if somebody is vegan or vegetarian they are forced to eat at the same highly smelly place where non-veg is being cooked/ grilled making eating discomfort.
The cleanliness in the bathrooms and security systems in the hostel premises were good. Staff behavior was very friendly. Also, availability of staff 24/7 was very good thing. The hostel is well maintained.

NorwayCheap hostel in dublin. A bit of an uphill walk from the city center but totally manageable. Staff were friendly and the room was nice. Beds and curtain to cover was worn. Metal rod holding curtain fell down multiple times when closing curtain. Drawer under the bed to place your items in was rather small. Could not fit my cabin sized backpack in there. Also need to bring your own lock. Very affordable price and a decent stay for short term

PhilippinesMy dad and brother weren't able to sleep well in the men's dorm, I think their room was facing the street so they could hear the cars passing by, they could also hear the noise from the shower room.
The location is good, near meetup point for the tour and near bus stops. Room and bathroom are all clean.

PolandOn a sunny day it was horribly hot in the bedroom, there's no aircon and the window can't be fully opened. The temperature got bearable only in the early morning, I couldn't sleep until like 5 am. Water pressure in the female bathroom was very low. The pillow case was dirty
A bed with dark curtain gives privacy and protects from light. There's enough space for everybody in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen

FranceA board with the month's activities is present in the games room. Consider watching it. It's not very visible and so we missed the pub crawl event where we would have loved to go. In addition, it is very good for working but more complicated to make friends, people go there mainly to work. We did not think to ask for our cash deposit at the end of the stay and it was not returned to us directly when we returned the keys. Fortunately we still had a friend there. Thanks to the hostel for finding a solution but it would be nice to give it back automatically at the end without us having to ask for it.
It was very clean, quiet and well located. There are games that are available for free. We are safe and staff are available all day and night..

ItalyThe only thing that disappointed me was the “shared kitchen” area: it only had tables with microwaves and small ovens. As an Italian, I was expecting proper stovetops to be able to cook.
Everything was fine – clean bathrooms with hot water and rooms that were not too warm. Privacy was generally okay, except for the fact that some female staff members entered the male dormitory for maintenance work without even knocking.

AustriaThe location has a lot of potential but feels a bit empty and sparsely furnished. It could easily be a lot cosier and comfortable
We were staying in the 4-bed female dorm which was nice because we had the room to ourselves. Also liked the small garden with tables to sit outside

IrelandThe 2 beds dormitory was very small room and the lockers under the bed is very very small, my backpack (or if you are travelling with a luggage) would never fit there. Since I was on a same room as a friend we had no issues to leave everything outside. There is also no curtain on the windows, so if you are changing clothes in the room, all the neighbours will see you.
Hostel was nice, it's a hostel after all. Staff were very friendly. The outside it's kind of durty and old but that is fine also. Just stayed for one night.

LatviaOn the website it is mentioned that there is a shared kitchen, although in reality (as far as we were aware and knew) there wasn't one, only a snack bar, so we couldn't make any food and had to go to convenience stores all the time. Another downside is that there isn't an elevator, only stairs, so if you have a heavy luggage, best to train your muscles beforehand. Be aware that there is a possibility/chance of living with strangers/a stranger if you book, for example, a 6-people bedroom for 5 people. The location itself is a bit sketchy, no surprise, there are many homeless people around, it's very trashy, unclean, but most of the people are nice nonetheless, just going out alone is a bit scary.
I liked the atmosphere and the reception, they were really helpful and nice. The terrace was nice, aesthetic, you could enjoy yourself to peace and quiet, hang out with your friends and enjoy snacks, a good card game and so on. The beds were enjoyable and were comfy for even tall people, it wasn't too hot or too cold. Although the location isn't the best, you can find all the transportations you need to get everywhere, most shops are all close to each other, so you don't have to walk far at all.

AustraliaThe room was very basic. While the bunk bed was simple, it was comfortable enough. But the room was quite hot, with no air moving. Fans would be a great addition, given the current summer heat! Maybe a chair, small table, and extra hooks would add so much to the appeal of the room!
The reception crew were great, check-in was a breeze, and once you get your bearings, it's easy to find your way round! Great well equipped kitchen, dining area, and lounge options around the place. The bathroom areas are big and roomy, but the shower plumbing could be better. So good to have a laundry, but expect to stand in line! Buses are close by, or take a 20 min walk to town. Easy!
